Thanks Mike, a useful conversion chart that one :)

This coming weekend i'll be off to Taunton model railway exhibition, and among kits will be this new one.

Brilliant stuff. I am currently enjoying the build of 0 scale signal box equipment including stove, chair and table.

For all who want to build these kits:

Look for very sharp cutters like Xuron or similar.

Also flat parallel pliers help to hold the pieces while folding.

And magnifying equipment like optivisor or similar.

Here is my effort building the excellent stables and workshop in 4mm for a diorama I am making for the shunting sidings.. I have the storage shed primed in the spray booth ready for painting. I really enjoy building these kits and the quality is superb. I now solder mine up, but I think I need to superglue the fine detail such as door handles etc as the solder just swamps them!

Looking forward to more kits coming in the future!

:D Its taken me this long to remember what I did!

Here goes;

1. Scrub the brass model with Viakal/Soda crystals and handles only with gloves afterwards.

2. Prime using an aerosol Etching primer from a car spares shop

3. 1st coat - Humbrol Dark Brown Wash, well strirred not shaken!!!

4. Each individual wood panel then painted with various shades and mixes from the Lifecolor "Rail" acrylic weathering sets and the Ammo rail weathering paints, each one applied with a brush and wiped off immediately with a cotton bud.  Sleeper Grime, Frame Dirt, Dust were favourites for the wood, with the rust shades for the roof.

5. Keep mixing shades and varying the colours randomly until you achieve the look you desire. I use plastic shot glasses from Wilko's to mix the paints. About £1.50 for 20 if i remember.

Hope this helps.
