Nice simple idea there Neil!

I've been wanting to make some buddleia, but can't find the correct shade scatter, but may have more chance with a crayon. Unfortunately my son is far too old for crayons now, so wil need to make a visit to the craft store or supermarket!

Ive been adding together two shades of "static grass" burnt yellow, wild green.

Then using them in the static grass machine.

once glued down in place, ive then lightly "spray glued" over the top of the grassed area.

Then sprinkled "fine turf" scatters (Woodland scenic)

Here are the results...

I've just been looking at the back posts and pictures on this thread and there's definitely a lot of atmosphere and feel good factor about it - wall to wall grass and flowers beats wall to wall ballast!

Wonderful.

Now gonna build a model of Kew Gardens......

Cheers.

Ive been playing around with layered "brown" cotton this evening :paint:

and scatter mixs...

Then spraying it over with spray mount glue,

then sprinkling (Hornby) green scatter mixs onto the layered cris cross cotton.

When  dryed, adding my more glue to the ends.

And then adding my red fine crayon powder...
