Regular visitors will know that we started these Members' Days to enable us to show our group layout, Henmore - but not any more. After being featured in Railway Modeller and appearing at the York Show a couple of years ago, two boards were damaged whilst being dismantled and that brought forward our plans for some improvements. We also learnt that gravity is stronger than wood glue and screws when boards are no longer supported! The original plan had been a gradual replacement of 30 year old warped and heavy boards but we decided to go for a new layout. Come and discuss our plans - at last I think we know what we are going to do !

Promised layouts so far are Blakecaster, an old favourite now in the care of Peter Wilson, but originally built by Mervyn Axon and further developed by Howard Clarke, both very long standing members of the Association. Also 'Mydraw Works' a small but detailed loco depot from John Hill.

Trade support from the usual suspects - EDM Models, Port Wynnstay Models, Minimum Gauge Models, 7mmNGA Sales, Second Hand and Publications and new this time 'Linda Tinker Books' a local specialist second hand book dealer.

Plenty of room for other modelling displays, 'bring and buy', layouts, demos etc. Please contact me and let me know if you want to offer something - it doesn't have to be 7mm but we would prefer Narrow Gauge !!

Thanks to Paul at EDM you will find information on his website here

We hope to see you there

Would love to be there, sadly cost of plane ticket does not allow this time! Missing great model shows in UK, Mickleover always being one of the friendliest.

Thanks for those kind comments David and sorry that you can't be with us this time. I see from your postings that you seem to be settled into your new role out there and have even got involved in local railway preservation - hope the locals appreciate your efforts !

Regards, Mike

Time for an update . . . . . .

Layouts confirmed

Blakecaster - a well known layout originally built by Mervyn Axon, developed by Howard Clarke and now in the care of Peter Wilson. As seen in Railway Modeller, the 7mm NG show at Burton and at many other shows.

Mydraw Works - a small loco depot actually built into a drawer - hence the name! A great deal of detail in a small space with a lot of various locos displayed. Built by John Hill

Up The Line - As featured on RMweb in a long running 'blog', this is a very detailed representation of the War Department Light Railways in Northern France in the First World War. See the detail in the numerous entries here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1344-up-the-line-1918/

Port Wynnstay Quay - A compact quayside layout from Phil Traxson using resin parts from his own Port Wynnstay range.

Underneath the Arches - A small layout showing a narrow gauge line serving a number of light industries under the arches of the standard gauge (may be withdrawn at short notice as Jim is preparing for a house move !!)

Demonstrations

David Wight - model buildings - as seen at a number of other shows, in several magazines and in books and DVDs. See Dovedale Models here http://www.dovedalemodels.co.uk/

Ian Thompson - 7mm Trams from Plasticard

Keith Gilliver - Military Modelling with a railway theme

Digital or Soldering - If Paul gets any time off from his EDM duties, he'll be trying to show you how - but what may not be decided until the day!

Trade

7mm NG Association Sales, Second Hand and Publications

BUMP

Time to bring this to the top of the list and remind you of our narrow gauge gathering at Mickleover on Saturday

John Hill has had to withdraw his layout due to illness but we have another demonstrator - chassis building with Frank Sharp.
