Very glad you enjoyed the show, and as you say, a hobby should be fun. I am now going to lie down in a darkened room for a while.........

That would make a fine name for an industrial layout set in the grim North East.

Hey, steady on fella, we can't all live in the bucolic south! :laugh_mini:

Very humbled by it all. Never even entered my woolly head that something like this would ever come my way.

All the other layouts present were of a very high standard indeed. I had no idea such a presentation was made at the show so it came totally out of the blue.

Congratulations and no more than you deserve. Your amazing modelling has inspired so many around here, myself firmly included, and I look on what you do with awe! No doubt the layouts look even better in real life, as confirmed by your award. I just look forward to the day when I get to see your work in the flesh!

Keep up the good work! :good_mini:

I believe that there are some in the North, who enschew the use of umbrellas when it's raining, unlike us namby pamby southern jessies.

You will get laughed at using an umbrella on Portland in the deep south - too windy. As the rain is often horizontal an umbrella will be of little use even if it isn't inside out!

I know nothing of this new fangled contraption of which you speak! A coat is considered a depths of winter luxury in these here parts...

Coat!  Rain stops when it gets to the skin!  Unless it's acid rain!

Well done Rob on the latest trophy

have read all 258 pages of the thread, some excellent modelling and some brilliant photographs. Not to mention those of Helen Mirren and Jenny Agutter.

Very inspirational what can be done with a small space

I have one question will the sheep be ok with the terriers  about

Evening Simon.

Welcome to the chaos and congratulations on your marathon! !

Yes, the Terriers are Sheep friendly.

The latest addition has been run in. Not as smooth as the early crest example but seems to have settled down.

Here's an image taken at Bleat Wharf.

That's very, very pretty. I do like that.

But wouldn't the nice little doggies prefer to have a nice dark blue or green coat with the legend 'Ramsbottom Valley Light Railway' on them?

Better that than 'Light Ramsbottom Valve Railway' !!

Would that be a bit like Brunel s atmospherical railway

Sorry Captain was just wondering if Ramsbottom valve railway worked on a similar principle to IKB atmospheric railway
