The possibilities are seemingly endless if we follow this sheep related logic. I think we should have a sweepstake on what comes next. An Austerity saddle tank - Woolwich arsenal. One of those strange LNWR 0-4-2 PTs, Eweston Goods.

Sheepstake.

So it's not the Wisbech & Upwool Tramway, then?

Top stuff  CK.

However, I prefer the Wisbleat and Upwool Tramway.

My slice will be that of Outwool. Not sure if it will be followed by Basin or Depot yet....or possibly Bridge or even Creek.

But this is turning into a very interesting project....

The only creek in the UK I can think of is Deptford Creek - I doubt such a beautiful place is what Rob had in mind.

Perhaps Becks, Brooks or Gills (though not in the Fens!!)

Quite, Wooders.  Same as Depot. Both scream American railway to me.

However the use of Creek in the area is quite common. Outwell Creek  and Well Creek both feature in the W&U.

So a localism, which now you state place names resonates with me.

I do like the Tram though, it does suit your style.

Am I alone in feeling a degree of unease that a Mr Wolf is showing great deal of interest in a thread about sheep?

Don't worry about the sheep Dudders, I have Red Riding Hood to distract me / keep me in line.

In other news,

The word Drain appears a lot in maps of that side of the country.

Bleat Drain.

What the hell happened to the groan button?

Shay logging engines....

Nope, I will get into trouble.

Thanks Wooders,

I am really enjoying starting this particular project. I think, yes, my style will fit well with the prototype. ( Though I'm not sure I have a style as such) I think part of the challenge is adapting yourself to the prototype you are trying to create.

I see this layout as minimalist. Few buildings, low in height and well spaced to hopefully achieve an open look to it all.

I will be staying with Standard Sheep Operating Procedure ( S.S.O.P ) and using RTP buildings.

Hornby R9777 Weighbridge is on its way. R9777-PO01_20201014_3621307_Qty1_1.jpg.fab69cff5c578aa28041469f82d53cd3.jpg

I will also collect a second weighbridge, again Hornby, R 8588. R8588-U_3157986_Qty1_1.jpg.bdf957f9eff2b6ebda338a59fb120911.jpg

These clearly are not W&U buildings but they give a hint if you squint.

( The plate thing will be consigned to somewhere)

Both buildings will be tweaked  detailed and weathered.

Onward.

Just upstream from Woolwich Reach and home to Dowalls Wharf, the wharf having large hoppers for that well known railbourne traffic, "Pulverite". Make a smashing model apart from the fact, the wharf had no rail connection.

Take care that you don't end up Sheep Creek without a paddle.

The Fens are mainly known for arable farming by the way. The big change happened in the 19th century with the advent of modern drainage techniques so are the sheep on holiday?

Fruit was a major traffic on the W&U.

I'm going now!

Vans are a favourite of mine and its fair to say, the W&U saw quite the variety. I already have a selection of fruit vans with more to come, no doubt.
