For some reason, I am thinking of a road in open fens, tramway down one verge, a road junction on the opposite side guarded by a disused pillbox. Telephone poles down the other verge and very little else.

My intention is that there be very little by way of anything really.....except flatness.....

We had pulled into a field to watch an owl who clearly didn't know what time it was.

Flatness

Silence

Telephone poles sinking into the boggy field.

Yet we were about as far from the fens as you can get.

There's a road to the left of the hedge. All it needs is a GER tram and a couple of fruit vans.

And it was @chuffinghell who started the "If Batman had a bus" hypothesis, although I was guilty of posting this on Warren Branch as an acceptable bridge ornament.

You may think that I have taken things OT, but ask yourselves, what replaced trams? Is a tram not a halfway house betwixt train and bus?

And who amongst us has just confessed to buying a tram?

Case dismissed.

As appealing as Toby is we will not be having any of that Great Eastern stuff on here thank you very much.

Harrumph.

Oops......I mean, Ahem.

I am not in a position to confirm or deny whether or not I find myself in a position to recall or otherwise the above remark, attributed in the first part to myself and seemingly added to this thread in the second part by someone or in fact anyone who may or may not have been myself.

I hope that provides a degree of clarity.

Trams are good.

Please be aware that I am referring specifically to "proper" trams, either steam powered sheds or electric powered summerhouses held together with enamel signs.

Recent imposters with pile ointment liveries will not be tolerated.

Technically of course, the J70 is an 0.6.0T so not a tram at all..........simply an engine that is used, intended or adapted for use on a tramway.

I shall have time this evening to have a good look over this latest addition. First impressions are this is a lovely model.

One will not be enough.

The possibilities are seemingly endless if we follow this sheep related logic. I think we should have a sweepstake on what comes next. An Austerity saddle tank - Woolwich arsenal. One of those strange LNWR 0-4-2 PTs, Eweston Goods.
