Sorry, just before I go, does this layout have to be in Cornwall? I ask as the Yelverton idea would be a lovely place, with two branches and lots of interesting features with the occasional excuse to run 'excursions'. Even has a cutting and tunnel.

Bye.

Hi,

Yelverton, a lovely station and would make a very interesting model indeed.

Just dont try and do a field trip for research - the site is totally overgrown and lost to sight - its actually almost impossible to manage to locate it nowadays and is also within private grounds.

Regards

P

Ah, Page 8. I'm allowed back now then? Rhino freedom gauranteed etc.

I never considered you as absent in any sense of the word, Dear Heart.

Now then, what say we suggest that ANTB and this thread are updated each at the same time, so that they are always next to each other in the list of layout threads? We could all save valuable milli-seconds looking from one to the other if that were the case.

Nothing to report. Work and family taking up all available time.

However, quiet 5 minutes now and a bit of research, aided by a few of Wych wood brewery's finest.

Found this nice image of a 4575.

These really are lovely little engines

Great picture for basing weathering on, plus look how smooth the ground is.

I agree Stubbs. Most people tend to give the ground in a loco depot the texture of a building site.

Yes,I was looking for photos for weathering purposes.

Some days off coming up so hopefully have some time for some modelling.

There.

Said it now.

Let Kack, God of chaos and mayhem visit himself upon me..........

Check with the CRS, they recently had a field trip to Yelverton station. Most interesting especially if known to those in its prime.

Thanks, John. I should have credited loco driver. There are some very good images on there.

At least we know the date now. This livery then in 1957, which is spot on where I want it to be. I did wonder when I bought the Bachmann variety.

Now on four days off so hopefully some sort of progress can be made.

Also hope to write up some kind of background to the branch.

Rob.
