RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted April 7, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7, 2021 In other news, I am to attempt a re-modelling of the railway room spare bedroom in which are housed Bleat Wharf and Sheep Dip. This is not a large room and not without its limitations. However, I'm hoping swapping things about will get me modelling once again. At present I'm not. I hope therefore to incorporate a bijou but usable work desk thing as well as two layouts at any one time.......... Updates will follow over coming days but only if I don't make a complete horse's arse of it............which is more than possible. Rob. 7
MrWolf
I blitzed the railway room / study / art studio / music room / Red Riding Hood wardrobe overspill a few weeks back. It does make a big difference and I would like to say makes you approach modelling with a renewed vigor.... But I'm sure that you would see through that sort of smokescreen... It's much less depressing and I don't feel like I am trying the elasticity of the memsahib's tolerance, nay encouragement of the hobby.
MrWolf
Here's a horse's ar5e, so that you don't have to make one. You're welcome. 2
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted April 7, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7, 2021 I am of course hoping that the Captain Llewellyn Kernow will offer some artistic insight into the aesthetics of HQ should he be so gracious. 1 1

Too big. Its only a small room. I'd only get one layout in and probably a smaller desk. { and if anyone is thinking of making reference to the leatherette 'accessory', don't. This is not the EM Gauge society. } Edited April 7, 2021 by NHY 581 7

MrWolf
Better. Smaller horse. Sheep friendly.
MrWolf
Back on topic - ( there is a topic isn't there?) No kidding, when I was about 19, I dated a girl named Fuschia for a while (Yes, her mom was a posh ex hippie, very pleasant.) the woody stems from the plant of the same name make really nice cut logs. There's plenty examples gone wild in gardens all over the country.

She's got more structure than Fuchsia who I find too relaxed.
MrWolf
Weren't hydrangea heads recommended for trees back before seafoam took over? A look at 1970s model railway magazines shows how far model trees have improved in the last forty years.

Also as I recall from the ones that grew in my grandmother's garden the flower heads are very brittle once dead and dried out.

Who said anything about using her as a basis for creating a representation of a scale woody plant? Not me. All I said was that I preferred Hydrangea rather than Fuchsia. It was you lot who assumed I was recommending its use as a representation of a scale woody plant. I don't know. You should really get out more. There is a life out there. Not as we know it, but there is and what's more there's Klingons on the starboard bow.
