Brian T posted this link on The Sheep Chronicles on Western Thunder.

He hit the nail on the head with the look I'm after.

Cromford bottom and loco shed

Didn't expect the picture as I copied in the link and it did something called automatically imbedded.....but here we go.....

I believe the photographer is John Evans and the photo appears in his book on the Cromford and High Peak Railway.

It's a view of the workshops etc at Cromford Bottom. If I've got that bit wrong, I'm sure Al G will correct Mr and rightly so.

Rob.

that is a great picture Rob. very inspirational, the trackwork is the look I'd like to get if I could get my static grass to

stand up!

Not sure how you're going about it Steve. Apply PVA. Keeping the static grass aplicator low  add static grass then gently hoover whilst glue is still wet. The suction will pull things upright if not already so.

That is a fab picture of Cromford Wharf.

I went there on a junior skool trip in 1978 and even now, its hard to believe it had all been working just over a decade previously.

We may as well have been at Stonehenge for how "old" it all felt!

Nope you're spot on.

This is as far as I got with it...:

I really must dig it out and finish it at some point.

You've really captured 'the look'  Al.

It does compare very well with the image of the real thing methinks.

Perchance a spot of resurrection may indeed be in order.

Thanks Rob, I will keep trying. The idea about keeping the applicator low is one I've not thought of.

What about a colliery workshop  (no need to model the pit head or the screens etc.), or perhaps a wagon repair shop? One of the features of the former Marcroft wagon repair shop at Radstock was the sheer variety of rolling stock in train formations.

Don’t you mean Ramstock colliery?

That’s weird, there seems to be an echo in here...

There's a discussion on 'uneven industrial track' elsewhere on the forum. I really think you've captured that look here, though.

Thanks very much Cap'n, you should see what I can manage when I'm actually trying to lay uneven track...

Here's a few poor quality photos of Sheep Dip.

It's coming together.

In the top view, the Peckett will be partly obscured by a small sloping loading dock.

Second photo down looks over what will be a loading dock. The deck itself will be weathered timber, to hopefully contrast with the nissen hut ( rusty) and the face of the dock.

Who is this "Norman Lockhart"? And shouldn't we be on a new series by now?

Maybe:

 - Norman Lockhart - The Next Generation

 - Norman Lockhart - Voyager

 - Norman Lockhart - Enterprise (or is it Enterprize)

 or best yet

 - Norman Lockhart - Discovery

You should consider a spin off, like:

 - Deep Space Lockhart

Or a classic send up:

 - Norman Lockhart - Galaxy Quest. A search for the best bar of chocolate.
