Lovely shots there... ;)

Nice set of Narrow Planet works plates would look fab on that Peckett.

However, I think there is a delay due to the current situation.

Cheers,

Mark

There is indeed, Mark. Two sets, one for each Peckett, were ordered in late Feb............

Love the Sentinel by the way Rob. Looks suitably at home.

They do need a bit of lubrication then and again. I tend to use Vaseline. Loosens things up nicely.

Applied with a cocktail stick.

Cheers,

Great stuff. I've still to fit my Peckett plates and nameplates to my pair.

I placed an order about the same time for some other bits from NP.

Cheers,

Your finger trouble is getting really bad. The A is nowhere near the O on my keyboard, is yours different?

Just think yourself lucky; on my keyboard the letter next to O is I...

This is truly lovely.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, nichts, rien, nada, about this locomotive to object to in this image.

Possibly your best ever, Mr Ramsewehoofwoolleychap.

Evening Ramblers.

The recent photos of the Peckett etc were taken outside. That's the beauty of a layout like Sheep Dip. It can be picked up and moved around.

This evening saw Norman pop into Bleat Wharf where he snapped an image of pannier 7717 as the little chap dozed in the evening sun.

Pleased with his 'capture' he retired for a swift cuppa at the Eagle caff before a leisurely drive home in Murray.

A Pannier.

Quite right, he should be locked up with nothing but some GWR cheese sandwiches and a used Cornish Riviera Express antimacassar for company.

And neither does one of these.....

68184 was acquired last week. It had a distinct nod to it as it moved about the place, as if something was oval or out of line, but not so much to return it. So I had a poke and prod about this evening

I'm grateful to Mark (46444) who was kind enough to send me some photos which assisted greatly in dismantling the little chap.

On investigation, I found that the gears and worm were coated in a thick white grease which had gone hard in the teeth which couldn't have helped.

It's now  much better. Much smoother and quieter so I hope I have resolved it.

Rob.

I strip, clean, and relube to my specifications any loco (though I recommend it for women as well) that comes into my possession as a matter of course, and have never made the running worse.  The grease is put on in the assembly plant in China for shipping fire regulation and insurance reasons, and is a PITA but most will run for cover when attacked with a rattlecan switch cleaner, from the bloke upstairs in the Market now we've lost Maplins.  The grease will eventually solidify and perform the opposite function to that for which it is intended, but not in any way that can be predicted.

Recent developments at Cwmdimbath have opened the possibility of a colliery loco, and a Sentinel is suitable; there was a real one at Blaengarw in a very similar light blue livery to one that is available RTR, but investigations are very much at the fag packet stage for now.

Dear old Aunty  Mac Asser

I believe she is readying from the book, "101 Ways to Break Wind in Public whilst Looking Perfectly Innocent". It was authored by my Great Aunty Climax. It looks like your Aunt is practicing one of the techniques expounded within the book.

My Great Aunt also authored, 101 Pirouettes for Forklift Truck Drivers, How to Convert your Forklift into a Fire Engine, Gedge Slots for Ladies and Blacksmithying for Beginners.
