Back to the canine in question.

When I was a teenager back in the 1950s, there was a programme on BBC radio called 'Round Britain Quiz" in which really bright people tried to answer remarkably vague and difficult questions.  They failed miserably on: "What do the following have in common other than beings breeds of dogs - greyhounds, terriers, and bulldogs?"

It'd be a squeeze in 7mm/ft.

No doubt Stubbers but I will be sticking to the correct scale/gauge combination of 4mm/00 gauge............however Dapol are doing a 7mm Sentinel, are they not?

No. We leave that sort of thing to clever types like Jerry.

More likely to correctly answer that back then...........no chance now.

Welcome to the chaos that are the Sheep Chronicles btw.

To be fair to the folk of the 1950's, without the aid of the internet or even tv, the terriers are from an obscure little patch near Brighton, the bulldogs were an old and retired class from the south and west and greyhounds were an equally old class from the south and west and a nickname anyway.

Anyone would have struggled.

The question is............can one fit a usable terminus into a 120cm x 40cm space.....

Yes, one can......

"Usable" to me includes a runround. Be sure it will be long enough to be of practical value.

You try to give a reasonable, rational point of view and get picked up on the slightest gerfingerpoken mistake....

Anyway, 4ft is too short for a terminus, even for Pecketts.

Morning Ian.

Good point (!).

I intend to use the same trackplan as Bleat Wharf. This allows a decent length loop for goods workings.

With regard to passenger workings, I will be limited to single coaches, plus a van as a maximum.

There will be a bit of shunting to allow a runaround of the coach but nothing too dramatic, adds to the fun..

I will also be able to accommodate a small engine shed which will be fun.

Anyway...........

Would anyone be interested or know of anyone interested in taking Sheep Lane of my hands for a small fee?

All proceeds towards the construction of  a small terminus..........

And you could look for a short coach. Not some toy, but for a Southern layout, for example, the 58' Maunsell rebuilds from Hornby. Other railways also have older stock, I suspect.

Funny you should mention that. I have just the chap.....

Don't forget the little doggie that shunted on of the railway Works on the south coast, was it Newhaven or Brighton or some such?

A cute little Peckett might keep him company as well.

You wouldn't need a RR loop, just shunt in and out of a Works environment. Goods only, of course, including lots of Departmental traffic. Shunt-release the little doggie with the cute Peckett, if you want to come in loco-first.

No conventional passenger traffic, but modified Ratio 4-wheelers could be used for workmen's trains.

In terms of size, my planned 7mm layout would equate to something less than 4' in length, if it were built in 4mm scale.

Also, Brynllefrith, an intermediate halt and goods siding on the Vale of Radnor Light Railway, will be less than 4' in length, although admittedly not a terminus.

Angling the main line diagonally across the board would give you an extra inch or two (which is always a good thing...).

Agreed but I won't need it.

A challenge, if nothing else but readily doable all the same.
