RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted January 2, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted January 2, 2020 After quite an absence, Norman Lockhart provides us with a typical view of Bleat Wharf. All is quiet but at least it's dry. Jan 1960. Rob (Must get around to sorting out that hawser on the crane.........one day...) 18
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 2, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 2, 2020 'Ere, av you seen the 'ook on the yard crane - bleeding dangerous, that is, blowing around in the wind, could 'ave someone's 'ead off. Blummin' yardsman 'asn't got a bleeding clue, the 'ook should be on the ground if not in use. 2 1

RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 3, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) Stick a crate under the hook, with strapping, and some blokes from Little Muddle dairy. There is definitely no tension in the cable so the hook needs to be supported. Edited January 3, 2020 by Stubby47

KNP
Can’t have the chaps from Little Muddle as they are still in deep conversion about the crate and how to get it off the lorry....don’t want to disturb their meeting!! but..... can they borrow your crane as it looks man enough to lift the crate! Does it come with wheels? Happy New Year

RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted January 3, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 3, 2020 As my mum, bless her, used to point out, Muhammad Ali was a brilliant boxer. But never as good as her favorurite, Cassius Clay. Didn’t he join the army or something? My mum was good at this sort of thing. She had a friend who moved into a 3 storey bungalow and had the ceiling semtexed... 3 2
RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted January 3, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted January 3, 2020 All packed up and ready to head to Edington tomorrow. Today was far more rushed than it needed to be and not everything was finished but Bleat Wharf seems presentable.......for now at least. I have been assisted by the Works Forecat who has considerable encouragement and direction, especially during final testing. Hopefully see some of you there. wiggoforgold
Our cat didn't watch from afar. The exploratory paw in the engine shed was dealt with by modelling the shed closed with the doors shut. Alex 3

RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted January 4, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 4, 2020 If you can imagine a South Wales Valleys version of Hylda, but a good bit less scary, actually that's not too far off! Mad as a bag of badgers, but an irrepressible sense of fun and mischief, coupled with the core belief that there was no point in having children if you couldn't mess with their heads a bit. I miss her terribly! 6

Preferred the tank engines and was extremely taken with the Bachmann 1F and the Dapol B4. Having previously found her stood in the goods yard at Mutton, I was prepared but she was the modicum of decorum. In other news, I'm up and about. Not awake but one step at a time. Will load car when Memsahib and Memsahib minor emerge. Rob. 4
