Is that on the branch to Toeff-y-nose via Throgmorton Poncefoot?

Hold that thought......

An ex-LNER loco, sold out of service to a worthy light railway or other impecunious independent concern, I trust?

Er.........no..........

This will be an ex-Great Eastern something, somewhere..........:(

But...there will be a revision to the name.....{ due regard given to CK }

Lambton Ponce D'Arcy......named after the local  land owning family and estate through which the line passes.....

I did say the name would be longer than the layout.

................and so as to avoid any doubt as to how this situation came about, it is entirely down to Wiggers and Mullie, coal merchants to the Ponce D'Arcy estate who are located in the the small goods yard at the station.

I thank ewe....

Rob, if I may, having watched a rather splendid video of a small French based layout on WT one thing struck me, basically the addition of the sound ( both background and loco ).

Have you considered this for any of your exquisite layouts ?

I think with the sound at an acceptable level it would suit your style very much. I know you'd have to consider DCC for the loco's but maybe a muted ambient background sound might work for the rest ?

Just thinking out loud.....as usual !

Found this on you tube.

Filmed at the EM Gauge society's annual dinner and dance 1995.

From the look of it there are quite a few LNER modellers there.

What a pointless, senseless, and useless activity dancing is, and how I hate it and everything connected with it.  Then I have a few beers and...

I AM A TERPSICHORIAN GOD!!!

(who has to be given another beer so he sits down and doesn't embarrass whoever is with him)...

I have thought about some background noise G. Birdies and such like......The layouts are all set up for DC only so I 'm not sure if I could go DCC.........

Now if I were to be building a new layout..........

Going back to the French layout, here's the link to what I think is one of the finest layouts you will see....the attention to detail is second to none.

http://www.westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/cessy-en-bois-une-petite-gare-de-triage.6974/

It has certainly provided me with much inspiration.

Please enjoy.

You could just connect up a dcc controller instead and switch all sections on ;) oh and locos chipped too :)

Fitting sound into little engines is more fun but with sugar cube speakers they can be hidden in cabs and bunkers too so plenty of options.
