Dear Gbloke, you'll notice that the two esteemed gentlemen in the photo have their backs turned so as not to be offended. Was a close escape I understand... Regrettably they do tend to vary somewhat performance wise although I don't think thay are alone in that respect. My trio of Kernow (out of DJM) 1361 saddled tanks also vary somewhat. One's like a Rolls Royce - smooth and quiet and runs beautifully while the worst is somewhat skittish and noisy going one direction and only a bit better heading the opposite way. The third is partway between the two extremes. Fortunately the black one is the best one and I wonder if it runs that much better because it arrived by air instead of coming. the long way round on a container ship? 1

Afternoon CK. Technically, both. The response from the retailer, Rails, is send it back if not happy. RMweb Gold Popular Post Stubby47 Posted July 17, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 17, 2021 (edited) Overheard in a Cardiff sorting office:- - Hello, you don't often meet a fellow loco in these parts, where are you off to? - Eh, up, some Sheepbloke got me to come all the way from Sheffield. - Oh no, not the Sheepbloke. I've just escaped from there! - Escaped? Why? - Well, firstly you have to mind your Ps and B4s there, a strange group of undersized locos with big ideas. Then if you perform well, he threatens to take you to.... Taunton! - And? - Taunton (shudder) . There are many strange folk go to Taunton. One bloke rips your insides out and replaces them. One bloke will force your wheels wider apart. Some will mess with your electrics and you end up making weird noises. But there is one, the Mob-leader, the one who attacks plasticard, the one who leaves paint tacky, the one who has a fleet of other railway locos... - There's another railway??? - ...other railway locos who maraud in gangs and push innocent WR locos off the track. My advice, pretend you don't work and you'll get sent home again. - I can do 'bag of spanners'... Edited July 17, 2021 by Stubby47 2 3 6

Popular Post KNP
Am I to late to join the Pannier Party? I've just had my three drawn up and posed in the harbour siding and picture taken a few moments ago. 8701 a DCC conversion of an old Replica Railways model that runs OK'ish. 8752 a Bachmann model that is a superb runner and must now be 20 odd years old and converted to DCC. 7768 static model, brought as a non-runner - another Replica Railways model Edited July 17, 2021 by KNP 21

Well, much running, adjusting of picks ups, chassis keeper plate and general cleaning and lubricating has failed to improve things. So regretably back it goes. A shame because like the prairie it is a lovely looking loco. It's almost as if someone is trying to dissuade me from modelling the Western Region...................
