As do those SR Pillbox brake vans, as seen in the prototype photo..... Mind you, I remember Railway Modeller printing a pic of one in the far north of Scotland, so that one's possibly only enjoying a long weekend away. RMweb Gold Limpley Stoker Posted August 9, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 9, 2021 There has been some sheep action in our village- a gang of EU immigrant sheep are breaking into a house with a wonky roof. They have even posted a look out on the wall! 1 1 13
RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted August 9, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 9, 2021 (edited) Morning all. Following on from a bit of correspondence with Pencarrot, I dug out one of Muttons regular coaches, a Hornby Maunsell rebuild jobbie. Here it is perched on Bleat Wharf. I must get around to weathering the other one........ Rob. Edited April 6, 2022 by NHY 581 24 3

RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted August 9, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 9, 2021 Of note perhaps and somewhar accidental on my part, J15 65475 and Oily chap D2028 were both Cambrdge locos for a little while in 1959. 475 was withdrawn in late 1959 but 2028 stayed for a while afterwards. That sort of sets the time period for Project X.

RMweb Gold D9020 Nimbus Posted August 9, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 9, 2021 Now you've got the diesel (it's an 03, by the way) why not introduce a passenger service with a Heljan W&M railbus?

RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted August 9, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 9, 2021 There is a rather good model of Horncastle in 4mm elsewhere on RMweb. And the place just happens to be twinned with Bonnetable, where I do most of my shopping. There is even a Rue de Horncastle. 2
90rob
Just spotted a nice bit of shunting action and some wagon details in the Chilldrens Film Foundation film 'Night Ferry' on Talking Pictures at the moment ... RMweb Gold Ramblin Rich Posted August 9, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 9, 2021 (edited) So, we have a BR/Drewry 204hp shunter infiltration, with potential for a BR 350hp shunter and a BTH Type 1. Rob's journey to the dark side of dieselisation has started. I will predict they run better than recent steam loco purchases too Edited August 9, 2021 by Ramblin Rich 1

RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted August 9, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 9, 2021 Thoughts are now turning to track laying and prompted by a comment by Herr Von Wulf on his Aston thread, here are a few reminders of the track laying on Sheep Dip last year. I decided not only to paint but also weather the track prior to adding the ballast. There was a considerable fear that when adding the water/pva/fairy mix to secure the ballast, the water would 'compromise' the colours from the powders but the varnish did it's job and all was well in the end. A bit of a heart in the mouth job though..... Same M.O will be followed for Project X. Rob. 16 1 3
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted August 9, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 9, 2021 I still maintain that's the best weathered track I've ever seen. It's just superb. Al. 6
