I told you you needed a Sentinel.

Yes. I have to say they are very nice. Something a bit different. However, there's a particular spot on SD that neither like very much. Both stall there.

The usual Pecketts glide over the same spot at crawley creepy ticky over pace.

That said however, the Sentinels are fine on Bleat and trundle about quite nicely so not sure what the problem is.

I shall be doing a further bit of investigation as it doesn't appear to be an issue with the locos themselves.

I might have to build them their own little layout............

Not that fast as they’re still not here . .

I’m sure the sentinels would like a nice  woollen mill to trundle around ;)

Morning all.

A fresh pair of eyes this morning and a revisit to the issue of Sentinel V Sheep Dip.

Matter just about resolved. I was struggling to understand why a seemingly well running loco was having issues on a layout on which other locos just glided about the parish.

It appears that the Sentinels (mine) need as much electrical contact as possible, more than the Peckett's.  By a process of elimination, I once again cleaned the track, concentrating on the areas of doom.

Result; The inside of the railhead in these areas still had bits where there was paint/varnish. This was interrupting the electrickery. Rail tops were clear but this wasn't good enough.

This has now been removed.

I 'm now able to make a cup of tea in the time it takes for said Sentinel to traverse Sheep Dip end to end.

Now all I have to do is enlarge the hole at the fiddle yard entrance/exit as the Sentinels are a tad too tall.

Morning Al.

It's does but reconsidering this now  in light of them deciding to play at Sheep Dip.

.........and they do look nice on Bleat Wharf as well which if you ignore the L&SWR signage does look vaguely Eastern....ish

So, no Sentinel specific projects will emerge.

Yep, now they've agreed to play nicely, they fit in very well I think.

So your request for a Sentinel yielded two examples then, Rob?

Morning CK.

It did indeed. One is spot on, the other has an interesting 'nod' but not such that I would return it. When time allows, I shall investigate.

It's as if something is oval ish. Runs okay though.

Not distressed/disorderly/unkempt/overgrown/on the verge of abandonment enough.......

For now they can frolic at Sheep Dip.

They are generally jolly good, smooth runners, aren't they?

I have one converted to P4, which does what you describe above.

I also have one in OO, which is to be named 'Llanddewi No. 2' and will occasionally make forays from it's military depot in the Welsh hills to Bethesda yard.

I think they are an excellent addition to the Dip of Sheep.

I am inclined to agree, CK. Once I am thoroughly happy with the running, I shall introduce a modicum of distressing....

Method to follow.

Lovely shots there... ;)

Nice set of Narrow Planet works plates would look fab on that Peckett.

However, I think there is a delay due to the current situation.

Cheers,
