Brian R Thanks Brian I haven’t seen Mr Tucker for a while he did some filming a few years ago at Radyr Quarry box with my mate he use to work with, also I went to a film show he did at Newport with a lot of the of late Bob Ransons slides. I don’t go to many shows unless they are O gauge. Cheers Gareth

Hymek copyright of B Tucker Warship at Exeter unknown Epic - ‘like’ for Jupiter is not good enough. Can see traces of most of her liveries! I think she was repainted at Laira not long after to see out her days with the coming and going arrow under the nameplate. Cheers. Matt W

jonny777
That must be the 13th Feb 1977 Western Requiem, rather than the same titled tour of the 20th Feb, because on the second one D1010 failed at Cardiff and was replaced by a Canton 37 for part of the South Wales leg. Hi Jonny yes it was the first tour 13th Feb 77 with D1010 on the second tour as you say D1010 failed with coolant leak to be replaced with 37179 until D1023 arrived from Old Oak. Guest
Not what I was expecting to see on the way to Tesco for some milk this morning... D832 "Onslaught" parked at the back of Sheringham car park after the weekend's North Norfolk Railway Diesel Gala. Locos stabled here are normally awaiting road haulage away from site.
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted June 18, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 18, 2018 Always good to see her where ever she goes. And a reminder that I once encountered a youth younger than I was at the time who insisted the name was pronounced “Ons - laft” as in laughter. Mind you he referred to Acton Main Line as “Action” and the depot allocation as the “allock-shun” so he might have had some form of learning disability. jonny777
It is a great shame that Gareth has removed all his wonderful hydraulic photos <sigh> , but we must carry on. Here is another recent online purchase, black and white only - but showing D1038 Western Sovereign in the sidings at Gloucester on 5th November 1965. The pale plates show the loco to be in green livery.

Mulgabill
I have just put a few Hydrauic (B&W) pics on my Helstonish topic, but thought I might share them here also. Hope you enjoy. TONY 1st up Warship D860 Victorious on the up main at Truro probably in 1968 Can't find any reference in my notebooks, but since I took the pic - thats a cop 50 years late! Also Truro D1029 Western Legionnaire, again 1968, I think. Then a couple at Long Rock D806 Cambrian and D844 Spartan on Long Rock again probably 1968 And Spartan is a cop too! Again Long Rock on 14/7/68 D863 Warrior outside, with D832 Onslaught inside. And D1070 Western Gauntlet and D1073 Western Bulwark were on shed, but I'm not sure which features here. I should explain that it is only now that I have a scanner/printer that I can copy these pics which were developed and printed getting on for 50 years ago.

RMweb Gold SHMD Posted October 31, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 31, 2018 I'm glad there is new life in this thread. Thanks to all for their pics. (I never visited the BR(W) in my time so these pics mean a lot to me.) Kev.
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted October 31, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 31, 2018 Long Rock in ‘68 was a fairly regular haunt as we lived around the bay in Newlyn back then. Nice to see pics matching my memories. Thank you
RMweb Gold Downendian Posted November 11, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2018 My spend on WR hydraulic copyright photos has diminished somewhat. Partly due to retirement and having lost multiple ebay bids. Furthermore, my carp fishing has somewhat overshadowed the modelling time/budget this year. But here's one I picked up recently, a favourite Hymek D7054, the last in service in green at Twyford in the "late 1960s", given that it was still green in 1972 it could be as late as that. I thought it was rather lovely. Does anyone know what service 6B19 is? Obviously a milk train, looks like bound to the West Country. Neil

RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted November 11, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 11, 2018 Acton - St. Erth / Exeter would have been empty milk trains. Laden ones in the Up direction were class 3 trains.
