Colin parks
Hi Paul, Great news to hear the layout is back! Hope to see it one day. (I do have a very strange, hazy DVD of it on which my layout also features.) The attention to authentic detail and the selection of prototypical stock is fantastic. All the best, Colin Edited January 30, 2015 by Colin parks

Lyddrail
Thanks for all the kind comments. I have been working on grounded wagon bodies first, Refurbishing some I had modelled to higher standards, replacing an ex Hornby vanwide for a Parkside version, and adding a couple of BR BD containers and heavily converting a Parkside Palvan to an earlier sliding door version. A revised C&W area will include some of the above plus a yet unbuild building formally used for staff and workshop use. I have made a second BR CCT grounded body which will be finished in blue to allow me to use this or the existing version I have in green for the later period. I am at an advanced state of painting all these. Pictures of the prototypes. C&W Building & grounded wagons. Closer view of bodies. Blue timber store CCT. Later green version. Sand store. Yes, I have modelled the brick on the roof! Jack store beside the Jubilee. Cheers. Edited February 7, 2015 by Lyddrail
Lyddrail
Photos of the model versions, in various stages of painting. BD Containers. Palvan with mostly scratch sides on Shocvan ends. Lima CCT in earlier blue livery. The version I had used on the layout refurbed in green. The sand store. And the jack store, the Parkside kit being much better than the Hornby body I used before. A few days still to go before these are finished. I have started detailing the C&W hand crane using Jon Hall's cast weight and etched rope wheels. Cheers.

RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted February 9, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 9, 2015 Hi Paul The siding door Palvan is a Palshocvan, diagram 1/219. Here is my drawing of the van before someone nicked the underframe.

eastwestdivide
One minor point, it's missing a lanky kid with a bike being hounded off the long footbridge by a very large Alsatian. (Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the incident as I was too busy panicking).

Lyddrail
RMweb is no place for details of your love life MrWade! Ian Ian, I am not sure what you are refering to, please bear in mind we do things a little differently than you do in Wales! However, eastwestdivide you are not going to believe the following! Your comment re the footbridge got me thinking what figures I have put on the bridge. I just checked and there are two trainspotter figures plus a black dog! And I also remember hand placing a bike (red) at past shows, the bike was sitting in a plastic bag with a spare lampost! You couldn't make this up, was I modelling you? Can you post a picture of yourself from back in the day? Cheers.

P.C.M
I remember seeing this layout back in the day, great to see it back again. It's a superb layout and even pre Heljan class 33 days days the loco's looked great. I think at one show there was a 33/2 running, hacked from a lima model. Looking forward to seeing more pics. Cheers Peter.
Lyddrail
Here are some photos from from the camera of Mike Fraser at the 2007 Uckfield exhibition. Entrance to yard Tonbridge end. Footbridge and yard. Centre of yard. Towards Redhill end of yard. Same end. And a photo from our third visit to France at Cambrai in 2006. In the yard the tunnel inspection train and gauging train, on the mainline a Power Supply train heading to Redhill. Cheers.

RMweb Gold The Fatadder Posted February 17, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 17, 2015 I had been debating trying to get to Showcase this year, and the chance to see TWY one last time makes it even more tempting. The finished layout room looks great as well!
