railtec-models
A lot has happened since we last posted on this thread. Many of you will know that we've upgraded to state-of-the-art technology. In addition to being able to spot print, introduce the new concept of 3D transfers (there's a separate thread on that one), we're able to accelerate the release schedule even quicker with even more varied designs. So with the kind permission of Andy, below are the ~300 new releases since our last post, all of which can be found at www.railtec-transfers.com. 4mm-1623 Sub-sector St Blazey BZ: 3D depot plaques4mm-6067 BR St Blazey sector wagon markings4mm-2044 Network Rail NMT New Measurement Train (2016 version)4mm-2914 Network Rail Track Recording Unit 950001 (2016 version)4mm-PL1031 Nameplates: The Railway Observer (43014) - (This pack handy for the 3D model that has just been released. Also thanks to Kit Spackman and Colin Marsden for their help in making this pack). Builders' plates and shed codes are 3D printed to give the required relief. Usual disclaimer applies: there is always a very lengthy list of requests for custom work and new packs, so if we haven't yet got to your request then please continue to bear with us and we'll respond in due course (some jobs get logically grouped together so do not fret if yours has been outstanding for a while). A cleaner Inbox and Chatbox means we can get to requests that bit quicker. Thanks for your understanding. One last thing: those of you who are hammering the site making a shopping list for Warley - please get in touch with us privately to let us know so that we can (a) guarantee the stock for you and (b) speed things up for you at the stand. Thanks! Edited November 15, 2016 by railtec-models
magic_monkey09
These 3D nameplate transfers are brilliant and alot easier to manoeuvre into place compared to etched and they look just as good . Do make sure you apply a layer of gloss varnish onto the model first though. (I tried to take a shortcut and apply them directly to the model and they kept rolling up so do take care) Here's FGW power car 43142 'Reading Panel Signal Box'.
Bomp
Steve has very kindly been in touch and the issue is that I am overseas at the moment. I have checked and all works with a UK IP address. Sorry for any confusion caused. I'm in the Channel Islands, so not properly overseas, Is there any way I can get on the site? I saw the article in my magazine and it looks like exactly what I need. I saw the article in my magazine and it looks like exactly what I need. It should only be a handful of overseas IPs that are blocked by the host provider - usually those in China / Russia (and possibly a few others) which seem to have a habit of trying to do things they shouldn't. If you're having an issue getting to the site then PM me and I should be able to get you on.
black and decker boy
I recently used my first Railtec transfers from the NCB pack. They really are superb, the film is so thin and has totally merged with the model. A very happy customer and now hoping to get some custom prints done.

Dungrange
It's great to see a thread with no negative comments (apart from website access issues for some). A couple fo quick questions for those who have requested custom packs: How do prices for custom packs compare with the costs of similar packs already in the range?; and How much photographic information did you provide Railtec with? I'm assuming that a number of good square on photographs are required to make the transfers, which points to some vehicles being easier to do than others. Hi David, I worked with Steve at Railtec to commission the FGW 'Fag packet' transfers which were fantastic, prices were pretty much the same as what you see on the website, and certainly worth the cost considering the time & effort you'd spend faffing around with printing yourself on decal paper and varnishing to get them ready for application - the big win for me however is that Railtec can print gold and metallic colours! As for photos, I just supplied Steve with actual, scaled artwork I'd created and he'd souped it up to print a great decal with glorious metallic gold! I'd definitely use Railtec again Hope this helps, James
