Hi guys,

 

The latest Rapido blog entry is up, once again encouraging model railroaders to actually go take the train.

 

It's less of an issue in the UK, where rail service reaches most of the country. But in North America, the number of modellers who have ridden a train in the last 40 years is probably a minority compared to those who haven't.

I keep meaning to take the Amtrak Coast Starlight on one of my trips to the Bay area one day instead of flying. I must make that happen.

 

And yes, sometimes you really need to stay far, far away from Elmo in Times Square, for a number of reasons unless of course, you are a generous tipper. Still, it's not the 1980s Times Square, where you really wouldn't consider taking children at all.
