Should update this as he's moved out of the Garden Centre, been away from it for a good while now.

The shop can now be found at Studio 3, The Locks, Hillmorton, Rugby, Warwickshire CV21 4PP. It's just as good as before, nice shop to have locally.

Now 'Tony's Trains of Rugby' (bmrail.co.uk), lovely little model shop, well stocked with Bachmann, Hornby, Heljan, Dapol, Peco etc. New and s/h.

Nice to see the Heljan Garratts 'in the flesh' and the Bachmann NER E1 Tank.

V friendly shop and highly recommended!

cheers,

Keith

Hi everyone,

I hadn’t heard of Tony’s trains before reading this topic. I had however been looking out for the rep edition 37704 in EW&S livery as it’s well out of my normal retailers region. I found one via eBay from Tony at a great price and opted for the sound fitted version as a result. It arrived very quickly and well packed.

Always good to find excellent retailers like this around the country and I would certainly use again.

It’s also thanks to those who had posted positive experiences that I found this retailer as well.

thanks

Mark

Like many model shops the second lockdown is doing little to help trading conditions especially in what should be peak season

Tony's trains remains open for online ordering and click and collect.  website is here https://tonystrainsofrugby.com/ and if there is anything specific you are looking for give Tony a ring . Delivery from EFE with the Beattie Well tanks imminent

Facebook page also here https://www.facebook.com/tonystrainsofrugby

Hi all

Just a big thumbs up for Tony again.   Yet again he has come trumps with his service.  Do give him a ring if you need anything, he will go out of his way to help.

Fully agree with this thread. I went in there and came out with an ICI 16 tonner. Apparently they're hard to come by around here as they sell fast, mainly due to the proximity of the old GCR apparently. Looks like I might have to turn to kitbuilding to get my rake of them.

When I went there I went the wrong side of the building and had to back out, painfully aware of the canal next to me hehe.

Throwing my hat into the ring here, I live in the south but visit my dad in Rugby bi-monthly if not more often and every time it's now tradition to pop into Tony's Trains. Great range of stuff, including Metcalfe and Superquick kits, thoroughly recommended
