J-Lewis
I am gathering the parts I need for a long cherished project, an old-school blue box kitbash of an sd40 into an SD60, based on some old 1980's MR articles by Tom Busack. I have almost everything I need but I haven't had much luck sourcing an Athearn Blue Box non-dynamic brake insert. Does anyone happen to have one or more of these they would be willing to part with? It can be from any scale width blue box shell (sd40, gp38/40 or gp50).

SD45T-2
I have a choice of three different dynamic brake housing for an Athearn Blue Box model. Looking at the photographs in the article either of the two longer units would do; which one depends on how much kit-bashing you wanted to do to it. One is identical to that in the Model Railroader article, while the other is longer but does NOT have the raised, black section on it, but has instead a rectangular hatch centred forward of the front set of lifting ring holes. The lengths are 2 9/16" (65m) and (2 5/8" (68m) respectively. The weight is minimal, less than an ounce. If you want one, PM me with your address.
