Come now James, would I say that about your show - the best society show in Wakefield.

Dave Franks.

You didn't get to the ClassiC Lamp Standard Appreciation Societies AGM then. It was both noctilucent and illuminating.

P

P.s. Fancy having a go at some of these?

Dave,

May I ask what sleepers you used in the Great Eastern promotional photos - many thanks.

Michael

Hi Michael, the sleepers are surplus from my layout so are EM gauge C&L sleepers as from their flexi track.

Hope that helps,

Dave

Other photos on our website use SMP sleepers.

Sorry, I missed that one, was it well attended?

Filled to overflowing.

Change of location for next year but the venue is already booked and it's only a minutes drive from the Campanile.

But according to Gallifrey's specifications for the obsolete Type 40, Mark 3 Tardis the interior space is infinite with enumerable floors, corridors and rooms. There were only 305 built before a much more reliable Tardis was designed and this Tardis had a much improved 'Chameleon' circuit which didn't get stuck as something innocuous as, for instance a law enforcement's communications box from the pale blue planet known as Earth .

So, in the light of this information and the presumption that it was a Type 40 Mark 3 Tardis maybe there were far more people at the Classic Lamp Standard Appreciation Societies AGM than you realise.

Maybe they'd all fallen into the swimming pool in the library?

At last the GER bufferstops BS23 are available on the website, difficulties with the keyboard when updating the webpages only cured with a new keyboard yesterday.

attachicon.gifBS23 GER bufferstop.jpg

Timber bufferbeam with rounded ends, some stops had a shorter beam with square ends which can be made by cutting the round ends off.

Please check you have the latest webpage with the date 'June 17' on the Home page as it appears some are still using an older webpage link and may be missing out on new items.

Well, I didn't know the old Great Eastern railway was so popular, the first batch of GER buffer stops sold out tonight so I'll need to be casting more.  Other new items are in hand too but don't hold your breath.

AH! but never presume anything.

Now that you have acknowledged there was an infinite number of classic lampost enthusiasts at the AGM, you must recognise that there is a infinite number of upstanding lampost supporters prepared to purchase a good few of the infinitely different number of lighting columns that were available.

Good sturdy examples were always required to lean against in the early hours.

Problem reported with the Lanarkshire Models website, jumbled titles and missing items. Couldn't find it at first as it was only some servers but reloading the site seems to have cured it.

If it is still a problem for you use the address below and replace in favourites.

New Loco buffer to be released, GNR standard loco buffer, fitted to most GNR locos and early Gresley designed locos.

Early samples look very nice and the production mould is now curing nicely.

Pictures and details soon.

New buffer added to the website tonight, Great Northern Railway standard loco buffer.

post-10324-0-98267100-1503960993.jpg

Most GNR locos had these buffers and many also had a wooden packer to lengthen them for screw couplings, a nice brass washer is supplied to represent the packer.

, or even a McGonagal & Harrison Ironfounders standard number 3 "Triumph" street light base plate? :jester:

Mike.

Sir,

There is no room for humour in the world of lampost spotting.

One day, you will see the light.

You have my sympathies.

Well, the Great Eastern buffer stop is still selling well, that's the fifth batch cast in only three months, unbelievable.. There must be a lot of GER layouts being built around the world, yes world, a number of the stops going to Australia and New Zealand.

The next buffer stop will be one that's been put off a few times but a number of us are now needing it so it's going into the mould this weekend and should be ready end of next week. Then I promise it will be the Great Central Railway's turn.

What is it?

Well, as it's also for my railway it's Midland. A Midland 'heavy' buffer stop which was used at the end of headshunts and lye sidings, some are still in use to this day.

Photos to follow next week.

An email asking questions, the answer is - yes, these buffer stops are 4mm scale, made to suit code 75 rail and can be built to OO, EM and P4 track gauges.

Just thought I would share with everyone.

Okay, the masters for the Midland Railway 'heavy' buffer stop are now ready to put in the mould, still only five parts to make a buffer stop.

The masters held together with bluetac.

If all goes well they will be released at the EMGS Workshop Wise event in the North East of England.
