C14965 - I guess that was a mixed train, with the flat (timber?) wagons at the back of the passenger coaches?

And I've got a soft spot for those tiny shunters (C14947), like some enthusiastic small dog: "yes I can pull that train, really, really I can"

Yes it is a mixed train, not uncommon on the RhB, including the Arosa line.

Great pics Dave. Thanks again.

Not only did your pics inspire me to change my avatar,  but also inspired Santa Claus also to deliver a Roco OBB 2143.

I've also been digging out my old OBB pics and found this one featuring a vintage 1245 at Kitzbuhel (I think?) 1990

Hi Dave.

No.6 in photo C14761 must be close to the rack section by the grease stain from the cog wheel in the middle of the track.

Nice pictures as always.

Cheers

Keith

I was standing a few metres from the start of the rack section down to Altstatten.

Really like the look of shunter 1161-002 in C16167*

If my understanding of the Austrian pages is correct it was built in 1928 and was one of the last 5 retired in 1993.

(ÖGEG have a working example preserved)

Makes the longevity of UK classes pale into insignificance.

It also shows the different attitude over there where even the shunters are electric, here they are always diesel even in fully electrified areas.

Quite an impressive beast. It weighs about 5t more than a class 08 but packs about 1000hp!

Cheers

Keith

* I like the smaller classes, they were the workhorses of the railways.

Hi David,

Some really useful shots especially the GE 6/6, gives good reference for some subtle weathering of a model thank you for your ongoing posts of the European scene.

As you will have noticed I haven't posted any photos today, which was not my plan.

This afternoon Mum, who is 91 and lives by herself, had a fall.  She is fiercly independent and doesn't have any carers, just a lady who cleans for her once a week and I go round in everyday for a few hours to keep her company and do things for her.

An ambulance was organised as she couldn't move which took her to the new Cramlington Emergency Hospital, (only 10 minutes or so away) where she was X rayed and admitted.  She has broken her pelvis.

As  a result for the immediate future I will be at the hospital a lot, in due course she should be moved to another local hospital, possibly the small one in the town where I live or the nearby General Hospital.

This means that I will more busy than usual for a while, so I may not be able to post photos everyday, but I will when I can to take my mind off things.

David
