A few of us went to the DRS open day at Carlisle at the end of June.  Lots of blue diesels and a surprise encounter with Royalty in Carlisle station on our way home in the form of LMS Princess Elizabeth.

Last week we moved the remainder of our stuff into our new shed.  It was definitely a case of many hands make light work.  Cars, vans and a large truck we burrowed were all used.

The solar panels which charge batteries all week long will hopefully give us more than enough power for club nights, making our new green coloured shed green in more ways than one!

Meanwhile on the outside new pathway is been formed from the shed to the ticket office for the train rides and station.

The club was on the road again last weekend with a visit to the Falkirk Model Railway Exhibition.  The last one at the college and the end of an era.  Looking forward to returning next year at a new location.

We had a visit from Primomodels on Thursday.  They are manufacturers of trees.  Michal came across really well and clearly has a real interest in the hobby.  He spoke about his range of products and we gave him a tour of the club room and a brief look at the outside tracks.

If you get the offer of a visit, I'd take up the offer.

The club is getting ready to go to Model Rail Scotland at the end of February.  We are taking our Coeur d’Alene layout.  Some of our newer members are getting trained up to operate the layout.

Coeur d’Alene is an American based layout with a French sounding name, it is a narrow gauge layout so it runs on OO track but it is American O Gauge.  Hope that is all clear then.

The scenic section of our latest layout is nearing completion.  Finished of beautifully by some bespoke hand painted back scenes by one of our newer members.

We are hope to debut the new layout at Perth MRX at our 2023 exhibition next June.

It will be possible to get a sneak peek at one of our open days at our premises on 31 July. The layout will not be operational but may  be on view.
