Thanks John....lifting section works well , found the idea from a post on rmweb and on utube and thought I would give it a try.... just needs a bit of fettling with a sander on the alignment blocks underneath now the wood has settled.. started rubbing and gone a bit tight when lifted or lowered but keeps the alignment well... :good:

Hi all.....had a from break ballasting and spent the bank hols re-laying the lifting section track, it now has better alignment and runs smoother over the join... I also got around to making a programing track on a separate board and fit its shelf. it allows easy removal so it can be used at our local train fair and club as a test track, I have fitted oo and n gauge track and a dpdt switch to allow dcc or dc running, handy for when I fit my own or clubs decoders!

I also received  the first imp servo controller from GFB designs to try and a relay for frog switching or route leds, once I am happy how they work I will order more...

highly recommended for service and delivery!.. :imsohappy:

Hi all...servo and servo mount came today and i set about fitting to layout, took about half hour to fit and connect to main bus and droppers and about 10 mins to set up throws, end points and servo speed... all fairly  and clearly explained.. good stuff and I am happy to fit more to the layout

Red and black are bus connections, green is frog supply... can be changed by accessory selection( I use NCE) or overridden by a push to make switch this I will fit when I make the points route boards.

The relay has two positions for frog switching.. very handy! and also connections for leds to show route selected

back soon....

Hi all... busy couple of days fitting 5 more servos and controllers to the sidings and passing loop, I can now shunt to my hearts content and not touch a thing! :ok: ...only 10 more to fit, I also gave the sidings a further spray over with sleeper grime,at some point dirtying, spilt oil and ash etc will be added, all the ballasting is finished so I can now start the scenic backscenes and start a bit of landscaping....

Hi all.....busy week this week, carried on fitting a few more servo point controllers, only five left to do when funds allow, also had a bit of a nightmare with the double slips and the panniers, they kept stalling at low speeds.. the prairies, collett and mogul have no problems, have managed to tweek 2 of them after relaying but one ended being filed to the bin!    why don't peco make electrofrog code 100 double slips?... anyway I am eventually fitting all locos with sound decoders and stay alive so I will just refit a new slip... I have also fitted the back boards and airbrushed the clouds although some will be hidden by embankments and scenery

some pics....

Hi johan...there are some good pics earlier in the topic rather than repost them, they are  B & Q adjustable kitchen cupboard hinges which swing out creating the clearance to clear the track, they are mounted on a cross batten which locates the lifting section and keep it aligned....

Hi johan... yes it is, my old layout (exe valley) used seep pm1 "s run on a separate dc circuit, using servo"s on dcc is actually been easier to set up and less wiring although I have now fitted a separate bus for the servo controllers so now they are independent from track supply....

This is how it looks.... :good:

Hi all... decided to make a couple of operational track changes as I was planning the scenic part of the layout... the first was to remove the very short siding where the goods shed will be,  it will now allow me to scenic better and provide a lane access to and from the yard.....

I have also dropped the idea for the turntable as I felt it did not suit a branchline scene, I have instead used the point removed from the goods shed as it was spare and used it to provide an extra siding around the engine shed which will be used for a coaling/ water tower point.. this also has freed up the other siding to be used for a headshunt for shunting stock from the sidings into the passing loop, I will now not have to enter the mainline for this to happen and can keep the mainline free to keep running and shunt at the same time... :imsohappy:
