Hi all... spent the day progressing with the platform area for little marley.... to start I faced the platform with dressed stone courses....

then set about blending in the landform creating a frame using polytile.. this will allow me to slot in the platform  to its position enabling it to be removed if need be for board separation.. it has allowed me to make the platform in one piece...

Hi Dave,

Super progress here with some great scenery work going on. Is your station just a one platform job?

Also, I couldn't help but notice the signal box - is the roof removeable? The chimney might be better off at the back where there would be a stove perhaps? I could be wrong but usually the window view was unobstructed by a fireplace/chimney breast?

Anyway, forgive my noticing. Lovely updates here and looking forward to seeing how the station develops further.

Chris :)

Hi Chris... Thanks...lots to do on the scenery....yes it will only have this platform as it is a single line working, the other line next to it is a passing/shunting loop... as for the signal box it is an oops moment :fool: , the box is not yet finished and the roof is loose so I can fit an interior and was placed to take the pic.......

as it should be.... :)

Hi Dave,

Haha, brill. I thought so. Don't worry, we all have oops moments. I very often have those 'sack the signalman' moments when points are set wrong which causes a dead section or the occasional SPAD :nono:

I like the shot of a train at the platform. It looks like it fits a loco and 2 coaches on nicely?

Cheers,

Chris :)

Hi all.....a couple of useful hours tonite.....primed the platform grey, needs a bit more work yet...also fitted a trap point on the loop for the sidings, just need the servo and controller fitting (tomorrows job)...this will be linked to the loop exit point controller and will have the same address so will move together... :)

Hi Dave, more great work here. May I ask what you used for the platform edging?

OK  ignore that request - have gone back through a few posts and found out!

Hi all.....bit of an idea today about what to do to the area where i removed the points and put a curved one in.......had a bit of wasted scenic space, this is what it was... you can see the area of removed track.....

an hour later, a bit of rail cutting , a few sleepers here and there made rusty and weeded and there you go....an old, disused, forgotten headshunt..

Hi all...a couple of progress pics for now.....more brambles added around the fencing and siding slopes, getting to look nicely over grown now... a few telephone poles have also been fitted....... also a few grassy tufts, not sure about these yet if they look right, thinking the colour needs a tweak? :scratchhead:

Hi all.....Little Marley now has its station...... :declare: a nice second hand bargain made by Bachmann...a little bit of re-paint on the stonework and some extra fencing and a gate to finish the gap......some station nameboards are needed and some platform lamps should finish the setting nicely ....all it needs then are some punters wanting to travel... :imsohappy:

some pics....
