Recommended Posts

Hi All

so more progress with both large boards up for the first time this year for work so all hands to the pump

mostly detailing work being carried out with around the pits being re levelled since we re aligned these in September.

as picture 1 will show

around the water tower has also received work with signage final point levers etc.

tomorrow I hope to complete more fencing as well as have everything level ready for Thursday since the two boards have to be down on Friday again.

a few more photos to show progress I am hoping to get the airbrush out later this week too fingers crossed

Chris

post-14552-0-28546000-1445430809_thumb.jpgso more work continues

whilst i wait for paint to dry i thought i would post other pictures taken.

obviously whilst track work is carried out running operations are on hold so looks like the workshop team have taken advantage of this and shunted the black 5 near to the shed for attention

Evening All

so not much wok going on mainly detailing to the shed areas since the layout is coming down soon.

many more bits added to the layout and almost ready for airbrushing the track work

a couple of recent shots taken showing the 9f in steam and 27007 who has arrived for a new tarpaulin because I am not happy with the bulk of the blue one it catches and sticks out too far.

so....

normally this time of year on Ropley I normally wind down setup a few projects etc to see me into next year

well this year its not like that

although 30506 arrived yesterday after a visit to Alton model centre she will slowly be done over the Christmas period ready for the second show next year

much is going on the sheds are being re structured and having a new skin added so I can make the shed more realistic

75079 has started her restoration looking very nice If I may say so myself

27007 has received her new tarpaulin

34007 is due to arrive in mid December being manston

30 number and name plates have been ordered

3 new buildings have popped up 2 behind the sheds near to the road bridge

30828's lining has arrived

southern lettering ordered for 506 and lining for yet to arrive 31806

2 diggers that do the coaling have also arrived for kit bashing using the Dapol kits :scratchhead:

and that's only to start with

board 4 is near complete along with board 3 :O which means mainly board 2 left with board 1 completed already

30499 can now be finished using DJH s15 as a guide Urie would be happy to see progress

so not much !!!

beggarwood lane town scene will kick off shortly with the first show a month after mine

pictures will follow when the camera appears out of the woodwork

Swanage will also be leaving now at some point for a better paint job to my painting quarters

will post photos of all progress too

I would be interested if anyone has photos of Canadian pacific and ivatt in this time frame too im not 100% on there situation in this time frame I think CP had some rods off???? :scratchhead:

Evening all

hope everyone is having a jolly Christmas

so something has happened that normally doesn't on Christmas day......... modelling !!!

so what has been done

well....

after a long period of time ropley's wagon stock has now reached the last ten :O

the picture attached showing all the wagons shows the left side as out of the box models and the right hand side wagons that have been made by myself over the years quite impressed to see I nearly draw level with out of the box stock :boast:

just 2 pal vans left 4 salmon wagons another crane and jib runner and finally 2 rudd's

Cam pac's tender has also now had the extension piece trial fitted and fits well chuffed with this now all she needs is the coal bunker built  since she is out of use in this time frame so being coaled would look odd!

the generator coach has also re appeared so work will start on this shortly too

also I have attached a picture of things to come the U class looks like its going to be a very difficult challenge so soldering practice before I tackle it!!!

Happy new year all !!

not much has happened recently but I thought I would give a small update....

Canadian Pacific's tender has been finished with its coal bunker extension complete quite glad since getting the colours to match was bad enough

also the Pal van is now on final assembly stages before entering traffic I have 2 more of these to build afterwards and also the grampus is now ready for internal work to be done (adding a load) before I put all extra details on and weather it.

next on the agenda for this sort of work like Canadian Pacific has had is 41312 Ivatt, who will have motor removed, coal bunker emptied, and cylinder rods removed.

lets see what 2016 has to bring for Ropley shall we :)

Morning all

Much work is going on in ropley since some items have finally turned up still missing lots that is to be ordered

Work over the last week has focused in the yard and sheds

The sheds have had a girder rebuild and the shed roof material arrived so they are in the process of being made finally!!

Urie site has had a massive go at with a Dapol 9f I bought last year to build swanage with now donating parts to make 499 more realistic

I hope to post some photos later on to show progress with the signal also nearly complete and she'd doors on makes the layout look that bit better

Ropley is now confirmed attending the MHR gala in Feb as well as a show in Portsmouth in April and appearing at Brockenhurst in May hopefully it also might show off a few boards at the Basingstoke show on the club stand too :)

Good to see the layout and meet you tesyerday Chris. You've certainly done a good job with it, instantly recognisable as Ropley with all the detail that makes the place what it is.

Sorry I couldn't stay longer, bit busy playing with the 12"/ ft stuff.

Thank you Phil for the nice feedback

so after the show finished much has already progressed. over the course of the weekend saw 3 new items of stock enter the line pictures to follow

construction on the new point board has been done already extending another 6 inches so scenics will be completed prior to its next show in April

30506 and 30828 are under heavy building work although valve gear scares me to make any advice????

31806 has wheels on order as well as a motor to follow

hopefully the first of the 2 usa dock tanks should arrive for April too

next job will be the curves for the fiddle yard to be remodeled and re laid

Chris
