I have at least another 3 restoration projects I have photos for but still trying to decide if I should do them or not?

I think all the effort you have put in has been well worth it, and I would love to see more. So I say go for it!!

Douglas was a great build to follow, and a very impressive first scratch build, much better than my first attempt at scratch building! and I can't wait to see more.

Hi all

Attached are a couple of photos showing all the stock we currently have showing signs of restoration work being carried out on them. This has been a challenging project within itself but all starting to come together?

which item of rolling stock is your favourite? Be great to know which one people like the most?

Hi Chris,

Very difficult to choose a favourite from such fine models but my choice is 80150

Not much going on other than some work to some rolling stock. Been playing with photos recently trying to pick out areas. What do people think? I have decided on some new projects to follow and looking to do some real wacky builds. When I post them would people like to see it as it goes or just the complete model?

cheers

Another project has started. I have decided to make another version of swanage under overhaul. This will be my 4th loco that I have made twice in 2 different stages.
12049, 76017, 31806, and 34105. This project will most definitely be a challenge and will be good practice before making 34058 Sir Frederick pile. Plenty of projects to do again now. We have the lining for the Pullman generator coach, swanage mk2, 37901, 37324, and a crane that I can hopefully make work to lift some bogies or the front end of a Bulleid coach. There is still plenty more to follow or that might jump the list!

I hope this project comes out well! Any guesses on how it might look?

Don’t know how I’ve missed this unti now, but such is life.  Great to see another model of a preserved railway.  Brilliant work, like the demic row of projects, particularly the peak (you’re giving me an idea).  More power to your elbow, looking good!

Thank you! It’s been a challenging build to say the least

At last!!

A project I started a long time ago which fell down to the bottom of the list to be completed! But after some issues trying to build my next restoration project I decided to do this coach alongside swanage. It’s not been easy as I believe the coach is no longer in use meaning it’s very hard to come across but some videos have helped to finish the project as well as finally acquiring some Pullman lining And help recently from Pete Thorpe on showing me how to do transfers has helped me complete this project.

Continuing with the West Country now. Hopefully this will work out well and look like the real thing as per the first photo from google images.
so far I have been working mainly on the chassis and making sure the boiler will fit in the cab area. Plenty going on as well as a town scene for beggarwood lane which is also in layout topics. The jobs list for Ropley keeps growing but not sure if it’s a good thing or not? Plenty to get in with to say the least. I’m happy with how the Pullman generator coach has turned out too. I’m hoping after swanage to turn my attention to the layout for a bit as I feel I’ve been working on locos for ages now

Ropley hasn’t gone quiet just lots going on.

After a good weekend away operating Tidworth with the guys (thank you I really enjoyed myself) it’s time to get back on with Ropley. Plenty going on as you can see. The first photo shows I am making progress with the roofs for the main workshop and wheeldrop shed. The back is the easier part as it is solid but the front section is proving more difficult. Who said making a roof would be easy ayy??

the other job is getting that eye for detail right. Plenty to be getting on with here as I plan to add animals to the layout although not sure about the addition of cows? Benches and other common platform equipment being made too. The brown bench is the last one I needed to make for the carriage shed.

the boiler is from a U class but haven’t decided if I want to commit to the project in mind yet or not?

plenty going on as usual

plus we still have loco renumbering to do and swanage mark two being made as well.

What’s people’s thoughts should I build swanage a tender the same as the first one or in some state of restoration? Been playing with the idea this is the restoration version I thought of (image from google images)

Going wild on Ropley now. More wildlife is appearing on the layout, magpieificent! Lots going on in the burrow I’m hopping in the right direction and going nuts. Swanage has also appeared on the workbench with the tender being played about with and the new appearance of the loco being worked on. Plenty to do.

Been thinking more about the loco sheds and what to do with them. The 2nd photo shows what it looks like internally with a roof on. I think a roof maybe the way to go for photo purposes. I am currently making the other side with glazing so people can look in.

It will also I think make them look more complete with a boarder around will give better external photos too

An unexpected bit of progress

tonight I have crossed another long overdue project off the list!!
tonight the station lights were finally wired in and all lighting circuits tidied up and ready for the next lights to be installed on these two boards.
still have to add lights to the station building and a few other places but coming together nicely now. Plenty going on in no particular order.
