I will be doing some work around 30499 which is based outside the shed to bring more detail to this area.

380John 103 Posted July 12 Looks great, really like the shed roads, your cinders and general filth between the tracks looks very effective. What did you use? Cheers, John

chriscleveland 805 Posted July 13 (edited) It has begun!! one area of the layout I’ve always wanted to improve!! Where 30499 sits. I never thought looked right so it’s time to sort this out and do some research into making it look right Edited July 13 by chriscleveland

chriscleveland 805 Posted July 21 Another long term project underway building j94 conversion Douglas. The photo shows how it has looked for years. Please comment if you would like me to post the whole build on this loco as it is almost completed and looks completely different
chriscleveland 805 Posted July 21 Another restoration project complete j94 Douglas. As you can see it has been stripped down with a exposed boiler showing. with the cab roof missing it must mean the boiler will be ready to be craned off soon. This has been a fun build being completely scratch built!!
chriscleveland 805 Posted July 23 another loco to benefit from Douglas being built was 76017 which has had a new boiler colour done. Just needs numbering and that’s another loco done. Currently 30828 is next for work to be done. All locos now are also receiving front and back couplings too. 4
chriscleveland 805 Posted July 28 The difference a few transfers make. Been slowly learning how to do this. Swanage seen outside in the yard.
chriscleveland 805 Posted August 3 Another loco done this one is a bit different as the watercress line own this loco it has never made it to Ropley but I wanted to model a Barry condition locomotive so a trip to Ropley won’t hurt 10
Nick C 905 Posted August 3 (edited) Very impressive! What do you use as a base for your non-running locos? I recognise a couple as Airfix/Dapol kits, but what about things like the S15? Edited August 3 by Nick C Autocorrect!

Some are ready to run models some are kits just mocked up to restoration jobs, and some are Dapol kits, some are also completely made from plasticard
chriscleveland 805 Posted August 6 The next project is underway. After many years I have finally gotten round to sorting road bridge end of the layout. I have finally gotten round to installing the new bridge replacing the temporary one which seemed to be becoming more of a permanent fixture. I think it looks so much better. Now it’s time to blend it into its surroundings.
chriscleveland 805 Posted August 6 With the new bridge now put into place it was rude not to take a couple of photos of how it will look with locos around

chriscleveland 805 Posted August 17 Ropley is up for a few weeks so all hands to the pump to get it running better and some work done that can only be done when it is up. Plus a running session can’t hurt anyone either.
