Once again the Peak Model Railway exhibition will be at its established home in Bakewell, the small town in the heart of the Peak District. The venue is fully disabled friendly with a flat floor throughout and with disabled parking outside the entrance. The venue is surrounded by a pay and display car park and is a short walk to the many shops and cafes in the town centre. Frequent bus services operate to Bakewell from the surrounding towns and villages.

The Southampton Model Railway Society celebrates 50 years of modelling in 2016. As part of our celebrations, we are holding an Open Day at our clubrooms. The event is also using the local Scout Hut which is about 100 yards away. Several club and members layouts will be on display together with static exhibits.
We regret that because our clubrooms are on the first floor, there is no wheelchair access.

The Exhibition and AGM are the premier exhibition in 7mm O Scale narrow gauge modelling featuring layouts, demonstrations, competitions and specialist traders; and will take place on Saturday 11th June 2016, from 10.30am – 4.30pm, in Burton upon Trent Town Hall, King Edward Place, Burton upon Trent, Staffs. DE14 2EB.
Please note that there is limited on street parking but there are other pay and display car parks located nearby. Please respect our neighbours if parking in the residential area. The venue is only a few hundred yards from Burton Station on the Derby Birmingham line. There is a licenced bar on site and refreshments will be available.

The open day will feature
Working 4mm Scalefour 18.83mm Gauge layouts:
Callowland
A 1990s period fully scenic model of a yard, and station, on the Watford to St Albans branch line.
Buntingham
Ray Hammond’s depiction of an Eastern Region branch terminus in the late 1950s, based on the track layout of the station at Buntingford.
Foxup
A fictitious Midland Railway station set before WW1 in the glorious days of pre-grouping railways.
London & Birmingham Railway Watford Station 1837
Ian Forsyth’s depiction of the early days of railways, the stock and buildings are all scratch built and based on prototype information.
Upper Lydbrook
Severn and Wye (Midland & GWR) joint station in the Forest of Dean, the current ‘Work in Progress’ layout of the NLG which is at the ‘baseboards and track stage’, for which we are actively recruiting builders and interested modellers.

0Whitby MRCs annual show returns on Saturday 18th July & Sunday 19th July 2026 10-4 in the Village Hall at Goathland (YO225JS), we have 7 layouts, Admission this year is £5, with accompanied children going for free, and yes, we do take cards!
So far layout wise we have Spital Bridge in O and Chop Gate in EM, South 6th Street Yard in HO, and Scrayingham in 009 and more
We are also pleased to welcome the designer of the Hornby Steampunk range who will be at the show both days with his personal layout and vintage toy collection.
Our annual show returns for 2026 with layouts in a variety of scales and gauges.

Advanced tickets are available on our website now which are £10 instead of £11 and also means you can get in at 9.30am instead of 10am. Under 16s are free. It will have 100+ exhibitors with over 45 layouts

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026

Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026

Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.

WMRA Annual Exhibition

Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
