Tolworth Showtrain, the Hampton Court Model Railway Society's annual model railway show, returns and will feature working layouts covering a variety of scales, time periods and locations. Children will be able to operate the popular Edward's Junction and Thomas End. There will be a wide range of trade support and demonstrators will be on hand to provide modelling tuition. Watch this space for information updates.
The Society meets weekly at Tolworth Recreation Centre. Tolworth Showtrain in November is a great chance for experienced and inexperienced modellers to see some fantastic layouts, pick up valuable advice and take away plenty of ideas. Tolworth Showtrain provides entertainment for everyone.
On SUNDAY one child will be admitted FREE with every paying adult.
There is a free bus link from Surbiton station which is served by South Western Railway services. The timetable will be available on the website in early October.
Several TfL bus services stop within 10 minutes walk of the show.
The show is fully accessible, all at ground level.

Harrogate Model Railway Group annual model railway exhibition
Harrogate Model Railway Group is hosting its annual exhibition at a new location, Gracious Street Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Knaresborough HG5 8AN
The new venue is located in the centre of Knaresborough, a tourist attraction in its own right. There is easy access to public transport and public car parking. The venue offers full disabled access and a cafeteria. The venue is about a five minute walk from the local bus station, served by a number of bus routes, and Knaresborough railway station, served by Northern Rail, is about a 15 minute walk from the venue. Taxis are also available.
Why not make a day of your visit? Take in the local tourist attractions, such as the castle, or River Nidd boating, along with a visit to our exhibition?

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026
Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.
