NEW BIGGER VENUE - Beckenham & West Wickham MRC are proud to announce we are moving to bigger venue which will allow us to bring you more layouts (up to 12) from the Golden Age of Toy and Model Railway. Hornby, Hornby Dublo, Bassett-Lowke, Marklin, Triang, Chad Valley and much more. Plus Specialist Traders, the renowned Club Shop and light refreshments. The new venue is Forest Hill Boys School - Only 15mins walk from Forest Hill & Sydenham Stations which has 9 local bus routes give you better connections. £10.00 per Adult, Children (up to 16) accompanied by an adult free. Milton Keynes Model Railway Society Open DayInterested in becoming a member or just want to see what we do?
Then come along to one of our open days!

There will be this going on. Like how to fit coach lighting, light weathering and repairing / maintenance of loco's.
The hours for each open day will be 10am – 3pm
We have layouts in the major gauges, which will be operational during our open days.
Light refreshments will be available.

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026
Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.
