The South-West Herts Model Railway Society is pleased to announce its 44th Annual Model Railway exhibition which will take place in Watford on 9th May 2026.
Venue: Queens School, Aldenham Road,Bushey,Herts WD23 2TY
Open: 10.00 – 16.30
Admission: Adults £8.00,
Accompanied children under 16 – up to two free with each adult.
Amenities: Close to M1 Junction 5 (with A41)
Refreshments, wheelchair access throughout. On-site parking.
Features: Over twenty quality layouts have been invited from across the country covering a range of timescales from the early 20th century to the present day Including- Willowbrook Marsh (0);Fire Creek(0n30); Erleigh Quay (00); Swakeleys (00); Providence Colliery (00); Thomas Town (00);Shirebeck in Emswell (EM); Tamzynowo Wlk (H0); Garreg Wen (009); Quarry Lane End (009); Selborne (009); Tan-y-Coed (009); Whipsnade Central (009); Catesby sidings (N);Fordon Hill Railway (N); North Lin (N); Staffordshire Potteries (N); Nakato (N). Other layouts to be announced shortly.

This is the Society's annual flagship event held in the south of England. After being held at the same venue for many years, this year sees a change but we are remaining in Bracknell. Much closer to the centre of town, our new home is:

Opening times on the Saturday are 10.30 to 17.30 and 10.00 to 16.30 on the Sunday.

0In support of the Risborough Festival on Saturday 11th July 2026, the Risborough & District Model Railway Club will be holding an Open Day at the Princes Risborough St. Mary's Hall (Church Street) from 10:00 to 16:30. We plan to part exhibit our new O gauge layout project, as well as our Test Track for members of the public to test their rolling stock on. There will be second hand sales, refreshments and some modelling displays. Admission is FREE.

0After another successful show the Chatham & District model railway club are excited and proud to announce the 2026 chatham show at the historic dockyard chatham and slip 5.
Advanced tickets are available on our website now which are £10 instead of £11 and also means you can get in at 9.30am instead of 10am. Under 16s are free. It will have 100+ exhibitors with over 45 layouts
List will be updated as everyone books in
Half price entry to historic dockyard chatham with show tickets.
Onsite parking £3.50 for up to 7 and half hours.
Local arriva bus from chatham train station number 1-2

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026

Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026

Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.

WMRA Annual Exhibition

Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
