Beyond Steam is a celebration of modern railway modelling - bold, contemporary and bursting with creativity.  From diesel and electric traction to the cutting edge infrastructure of todays railway scenes, this exhibition showcases layouts that push the boundaries and reflect the railways we know and love from the last 60+ years.

BEYOND STEAM is held in the Great Western Hall at STEAM - Museum of the Great Western Railway.  
 
Our beautiful venue has full disabled access and on site catering both in the exhibition and museum.  
 
Discount tickets are available if your wish to visit both the exhibition and museum.

In support of the Risborough Festival on Saturday 11th July 2026, the Risborough & District Model Railway Club will be holding an Open Day at the Princes Risborough St. Mary's Hall (Church Street) from 10:00 to 16:30. We plan to part exhibit our new O gauge layout project, as well as our Test Track for members of the public to test their rolling stock on. There will be second hand sales, refreshments and some modelling displays. Admission is FREE.

A model show with a difference.
Alongside up to 10 layouts in various gauges there will be trade support, bookstall, tombola, access to a Deltic cab, chance to photo one of the DPS Deltics, railwayana display, view the roundhouse and its displays, train ride on the Springwell branch
