The biggest event of its type in Cumbria. Loads of free parking. Bus service stops outside venue on Saturday. Excellent modern light and airy venue. All on one level with easy disabled access. Full refreshment facilities available all day. Children encouraged to operate several layouts (adults as well).

LAYOUTS

 

N gauge – NEW – Llwyn Grug – 15’ x 4’ –Les Nehrlich – based in mid North Wales somewhere along the line between Raubon and Dolgellau.

N gauge – NEW - – 8’ x 4’ –Steve Viney – One built specially for the children

6mm/foot scale. 9mm gauge – NEW –Canalside Iron Works – 11’ x 1’6” – David Atkinson – based in Derbyshire in the 1920/30’s a fascinating insight in narrow gauge.

OO9 gauge – NEW –Bachdale & Dibley Level – 10’ x 3’ –David Johnston – Freelance layout depicting a narrow gauge tourist line.

OO gauge – NEW – Curwen Bank – 12’ x 6’ – Ray Cottier, Solrail – Remember Workington’s railways? This layout is based on one small part of them as the Curwens may have built.

OO gauge – NEW – Loch Syd– 8’ x 8’ –Dalegarth Modellers –

OO gauge – NEW – Coffee Pot – 5’6” x 5’6” - Brian Irwin -

OO gauge – NEW - Desire - Maryport Modellers – Bachmann Tram layout

EM gauge – NEW – Middle Peak – 6’ x 2’ – Graham Hudson, EM Gauge North East Group – based on the real Middle Peak quarry near Wirksworth in Derbyshire.

EM gauge – NEW – Wittington Junction – 5’ x 2’ - a new cameo layout still under construction to show how it is done!

O gauge – NEW – East Dock – 8’ x 1’6” – Peter Shields – Diesel shed based on Sunderland in 1977.

O gauge – NEW - Derwent Sidings – 26’ x 2’ – Derwent Railway Society – a new club layout that is normally housed in Cleator Moor

G scale – NEW - - Chris Wright - 25' x 6' ish.

OO gauge - Thomas the Tank – 8’ x 4’ - WTHT - back in all his glory for the younger visitor to operate

OO gauge –Tri-ang Minic Motorway – 13’6” x 6’6” – Rod Moore – vintage models which members of the public are invited to operate

Saturday only. Live Steam - 7 1/4” gauge - for visitors to ride on provided by Lancaster and Morecambe Model Engineers.
