Additional Information

Rev Peter Denny’s Buckingham to feature at expoEM 2011.

We have a great show in the making. The main attraction will undoubtedly be Leighton Buzzard, part of the late Rev. Peter Denny’s Buckingham Branch that has now been acquired by Tony Gee. It is the first public showing of the layout since the Model Railway Journal Exhibition at Central Hall over 20 years ago. The rest of the layout will be housed in a purposed built building when completed and the layout transferred from Cornwall. The web site will be updated with some photographs of the team doing the work. It is admirable that members of our Society were the ones to grasp the nettle and save for posteritythis iconic layout that all members of a certain age remember from articles in the Railway Modeller all those years ago. It was the layout to emulate but was very rarely surpassed.

We are also delighted to welcome the Mostyn team with the fully extended layout. Richard Oldfield and friends will be the centre-piece of a focus this year on BR blue diesel era modelling also featuring Peter Johnson’s much acclaimed Canada Road and Mike Anson’s superb Weston Road and Longcarse West by David Furmage. Of course the steam era will also be well presented with layouts featuring GWR, LMS, LSWR, BR(E) and more.

Enthusiasts of industrial railways will enjoy Dan Wright’s excellent Axe Edge & Thatch Marsh Colliery so there really is something for everyone.

So put the date in your diary and we’ll see you there.
