The event is being held at Crewe Heritage Centre, off Vernon Way, Crewe, Cheshire CW1 2DB on both Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October. Opening times is 10am to 4pm both days.
This event is not restricted solely to NMRA members and the public will be welcomed.
In addition to the 12 model layouts, 6 traders (inc. books, DCC supplies, airbrushing) the Crewe Heritage Centre Volunteers will be operating the 7.25” miniature railway for rides, there is also the opportunity for those of you who always aspired to be engine drivers to drive an ex BR Class 03 shunting loco up/down the yard – “Be a driver for a Fiver” (£5 for those visiting from other countries).
It is also hoped that a visiting steam locomotive will be on site over the weekend. That of course is in addition to the steam and diesel locomotives normally on site or undergoing maintenance by L&NWR Company.
The Heritage Centre’s 3 signal boxes will be open for viewing plus you can also watch the service trains go by from the viewing deck of the North Junction Box.
Chris Leigh of Model Rail Magazine will be giving a couple of presentations on Saturday only (probably 11am and 2.30pm but T.B.A.) about “The White Pass & Yukon Railway” and the “Kinsol Trestle” on Vancouver Island which has recently undergone restoration.
A Hot Food vehicle will be on site both days during the whole event. Tea/coffee and snacks will also be available in the North Junction Signal Box.
