Honeywood Museum, a Heritage Centre in Carshalton, Sutton, Surrey is having a Model Railway Weekend. It's a small affair but totally FREE to get in.
The Centre has a display of local railway history and has invited two local Clubs to display a few small layouts. We, Carshalton and Sutton MRC and the Croydon MRS are supplying exhibits.
Carshalton & Sutton will be displaying a member's latest acquisition, Oak Hill Depot. This is a '00' DCC Modern Image small (8' long) diesel depot layout with Sound. More details of this can be found at << http://www.csmrc.co.uk >>under 'Exhibition Layouts'.
Croydon MRS will be exhibiting: Croydon Tramlink, Hemlock (GWR), Avon Sidings (UK shunting)and Tarttila (Finland). More details at: http://www.croydonmrs.org.uk/.
There are some light refreshments available at the Museum.
It's small, total layout count is 5.
If you are local (ish) and thinking of getting into Railway modelling and/or DCC and maybe sound, it could be a very good opportunity to come along (for FREE) and see how to go about it.
