Fat Controller
At the risk of being shot down for not having read all the postings on these matters (I did have a good look, though..), does anyone know a reasonable equivalent in the Halford's range for BR Blue? I have some Siphon Gs to paint, and don't want to brush-paint for fear of clogging the louvres. Thanks in advance.

Why not use a spray can of Howes Railmatch Enamel RAIL BLUE - part No 1207 ? https://www.howesmodels.co.uk/category/Aerosols%20-%20enamel
Fat Controller
Why not use a spray can of Howes Railmatch Enamel RAIL BLUE - part No 1207 ? https://www.howesmodels.co.uk/category/Aerosols%20-%20enamel Two reasons; it would cost a fortune to get it sent by carrier, as Royal Mail won't deliver paints, and also I've found that Railmatch aerosols block up very quickly. APOLLO
My 1973 Rover is Zircon Blue and is fairly close to rail blue. I have used it a couple of times albeit for touching up. Find a suitable colour match, you will need the Car maker / type and the colour name / code no and locate a nearby car paint specialist. They will make you up an aerosol spray for a lot less than Halfords. Usually a large can also, for around a tenner. I use Wigan car paints in Pemberton, superb shop. I even got a ford metallic "pepper red" spray there last week for my Galaxy, a perfect match and being metallic needed finishing off with a laquer, also an aerosol. Job done for just over £20. Now I'm going to ask them if they can do a mucky brown, matt spray for my trackwork / underframes !! Brit15
RMweb Premium Neil Posted June 15, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 15, 2015 I always reckoned that British Leyland teal blue was a good match for rail blue.
