This may be covered elsewhere, and if so apologies for a parallel thread, which can be removed if so desired.

Just doing my emails and had a link sent to me https://www.change.org/p/european-parliament-save-the-freedom-of-photography-savefop-europarl-en?recruiter=231598626&utm_campaign=signature_receipt&utm_medium=email&utm_source=share_petition

If this is right and goes through, another freedom will have been lost. I can't think of a reason for this to succeed, but that's no reason for it not to.

I'll leave you to decide if you want to sign the petition or get more info' before deciding. If you do sign it be aware you will get mails for other petitions.

Little late, the decision was today. Fortunately, the proposal was rejected.

Strange I only got the email yesterday, the day of the result. At least it was overturned. See https://www.change.org/p/european-parliament-save-the-freedom-of-photography-savefop-europarl-en/u/11358071?tk=2z_2painpvvilUqQHBud678Q9VNZz3Y9Q4qKA3au1A4&utm_source=petition_update&utm_medium=email

Worrying none the less that it could even be considered.

Rob

Hello Mr Thread, we've been expecting you.

Which is why I have this piece sitting here in readiness for when the topic surfaced: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07/02/wikipedia_jumps_on_bogus_photo_scare_to_tell_us_the_internet_is_breaking_again/

(Apologies that it includes video footage of Mr James O'Brien - for those familiar with his rantings on LBC).
