Mark G
I've been spraying my loco over the past couple of days with Railmatch Blue 207. although its had 3 coats (over white undercoat) and the blue still seems very light, def not like Hornby/Bachmann blue locos.....does anyone have any ideas what to mix it with to get the correct darkness for the rail blue? BrushVeteran
White undercoat does tend to make Rail Blue much lighter which I found OK for spraying some early class 25's with small yellow panels. However grey undercoat does darken it down somewhat.
Mark G
what do people suggest, more layers of blue or mix the blue paint with a darker colour (spot of black) for instance?
piranha230
I have been told its best to spray a dark colour such as executive dark grey as an undercoat and then spray the rail blue on top of that and it will give you the correct shade.

Mark Howes Railmatch Blue 207 is a bit on the light side, although good for a slightly weathered looking loco, depending on what era your modelling, try using either Phoenix Precision P132 (1966-1985) OR P152 (Post -85) either will give good coverage/depth of colour with a few coats, over white or pale grey etc.

RMweb Premium ColinK Posted December 3, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 3, 2015 Agree with BrushVeteran its satin. Its exactly the same as Heljan blue diesels, I've used it in the last couple of weeks to touch up my 05 and Falcon.
