Blog- Northall - Oval Road in 3D black and white

Recommended Posts

After I had finished the basic design for Oval Road I build a three dimensional black and white try-out.

First I did some research in my photo archive, that I have built up during the time I’m occupied with Northall. Using several pictures I made a list of elements that had to be used in the diorama. Below the list I made:

o A wooden fence with gate

o A large advertising sign

o Cobble stones for the goods yard

o British Railway goods depot sign

o Firm Signs

o A empty small advertising board

o A street name sign

For the try-out I used just elements that were already available in several kits of Scalescenes. For the building of the diorama I will use other ones in the most cases.

I will also use another color for the Parcel / Goods shed. For the try-out I used several kits from the following suppliers: mostly from my purveyor Scalescenes, but also from Modelrailwayscenery and Smart Models.

During building I noticed that it would more interesting to create a small alley between the Parcel Office and the workplace / warehouse of the builder. Because I don’t like a look to the edge of the ground and the sky I create the side wall of a building in the back.

To make the diorama as interesting as possible I used several roof forms. I will also use different roof sheeting’s.

Below the picture of the design.

I have to make some thoughts about the further detailing to create a nice scene.

In this stage it is easy to make changes, so any comments, suggestions are additional information is welcome.

Kind regards,

Job
