Team Digital SMD 84 Accessory Decoder -Help/Advice required

My layout has 27No Peco Electrofrog points controlled by Peco point motors fired by 3No Team Digital SMD 84 accessory decoders.

On closing down the system at the end of a session one and always the same point is thrown, why should this be so and can it be stopped?

Any advice would be most welcome

You can set which way the points are set on power up and power down.

Page 6 of the manual shows how you can do this by entering values into CV29

A value of zero should mean nothing selected.

Might be worth looking at the CV's in the other two SMD84's as it's probably only one output from one of them that is doing this.

If you look at page 5; section 4.3 it shows the values to set to move the points either thrown or closed at power on which could be causing issue.

I would make sure CV33 and 34 are both set to zero

CV29 is set to zero.

Doing the above should mean nothing is remembered and nothing should move on power up.

Also look at page 7 which shows how to set up the connection depending on how many SMD84's you have connected and which controller you are using.

I don't have an SMD84, I have an older SMD82 and have never had that issue when powering off.

I find reading the manual is very useful ;-)

Cheers

Hello Ian,

Thank you very much for your advice, I tried all that you suggested but to no avail, I then an email exchange with Team Digital who were very helpful in suggesting further courses of action, however these too failed with the manufacturer finally admitting defeat saying that this fault had never occurred before to their knowledge.

They requested that I return the unit which I have done via Digitrains who proved to be equally helpful in providing a new unit within a couple of days. This new unit works perfectly, thanks once again for your help.

Michael
