38-146 29T VDA van - change of livery?

Hi All

way back when the model was originally announced, I had asked my supplier to order a 38-146 - 29T VDA van.  It has since arrived, and it's not what I had requested.  It's the right stock number, but it's not what I had ordered.

I googled the stock number, and the model matches the images I found... except one.

This is what I had ordered:

But this is what arrived:

Did I miss something?

Some discussion about the change and a link to prototype pictures of the altered wagon here:

The wagon with Civil Link wording in dutch livery was released as a ltd ed by Model Rail. I don't know if this is why a change was made.

Yes see 14 in that RMWeb link

Why there was discussion about the blue not being blue was beyond me. It was a very strong blue colour on the prototype, OK not navy blue but not pale either, or greenish! I think people were lazy and only looked at the dirty one, the clean one is http://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/brvda/e2ddfb6b1

I've not seen the model as produced.

Many thanks all.

So the question I have then, is what was it used for?  I mean, the Railfreight and Civil Link ones are pretty easy to put to use.. but I had no idea this even existed, let alone a clue what it was used for, or when it was used.
