RMweb Premium JDW Posted December 5, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 5, 2015 Apologies for the really obvious question, but any socket blanking plug should fit in any socket, shouldn't it? I've never needed to but have quite a few that are all in the same spares box, no idea where they came from now (I learnt quickly to put the blanking plug back in the box but some of my early ones I just put the plug in the spares box), as far as I can think, it shouldn't make any difference as all decoders are wired the same so all sockets *should* be but I don't want to do something silly in the future! Thanks!
metropolitan cammell
Most but not all are interchangeable, ones that you can not have extra electonics like the Dapol western.
shibushe
JDW. Most are much the same, Pin layout may be different, you should find, say with a 8 pin socket, either 6 Pins, or 8 in some cases. May even have DC printed on it. With a 21 Pin, it will look like a decoder, but as with 8 Pin not all pins will be connected.
