Which GWR Halls coupled to 3500 Churchward tenders that had the 1942-1948 G (crest) W lettering on them?

Hello everyone,

I just had a question. Does anyone know which Hall class locomotives were coupled the Churchward 3500 gallon tender that had the 1942-1948 G (crest) livery on it? I know that this did happen and I have seen a picture or two but the names of the engines escape me at the moment.

Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone,

Only just found this thread whilst searching for relevant posts on this very topic. I have been checking through my library tonight and all I have been able to find so far is the following:

- 4905 Barton Hall with a Churchward 3,500 gallon tender, image dated 1948 but livery cannot be made out from this shot in Great Western Pictorial No.3 (Tony Sterndale Collection)

That's it - it must certainly by a rare combination. There are however a plethora of Saint's with 3,500 gallon tenders coiffed in G-Crest-W, but as yet, we are still waiting for such a beast modelled to 21st Century standards in RTR...

Cheers,

CoY
