RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted April 26, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) Hi all,  You know what I said I had a secret project on one of the other Darjeeling threads?  Time to let the secret out....  DHR Wagons in card  See attached for details - I decided not to include underframes as it seems most modellers in the narrow gauges all have their own preferences.  I've also left the roof as it is almost impossible to create corrugated iron in printable card.  Anyway - DHR Wagons - 1 - 4 wheeled closed van.   As with the coaches I've shown on the other thread - these are exported jpg files and not the scaleable files themselves.  Thanks  Not sure which wagon next! RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted April 26, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 26, 2016 Hi all,  First there was brown! Now there is blue!  What am I on about?  DHR 4 wheel closed van   Comments as per previous posting.  Thanks  Next installment?  That'll be either another coach or wagon! RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted April 27, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 27, 2016 Hi all,  Time to open out the field a bit!  DHR - 4 wheeled open wagon   Comments as per previous posting.  Thanks  Really it should be another coach, but I don't have drawings for the ones that are required and phots are a bit thin on the ground - so it may be another wagon instead!
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted April 30, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) Hi all,  One of my followers in India asked if I could do the drawings to suit his scale....  OK - So the scale is 1:37 to run on HO track.  Now - 1:37th is not a normal scale we work in and there is no MM:ft that I can find recognised as the standard.  So - I've had to work from the drawings again.  So - For any one else working in this scale/gauge combination....   As per previous comments. Insert .jpg into any software that you have which allows this. Size the .jpg to full A4 size to preserve the scaling.  Print on 'Best Photo' on matt cardstock.  Varnish both sides of the printout.  Due to the scale I recommend sticking the card onto a plasticard body.  For the roof - I suggest Slaters plasticard 4mm corrugated sheet as it seems to give about the correct appearance for the roof.  I've not included any underframe detail as you will be using whatever your favourite/have available.  Also left off the representation of the stanchions as these would look best as either brass or plastic section.  Paint these with Ford Ranger Blue as nearest match before adding them to the card sides.  Thanks  More to follow - The 4 wheeled open wagon in 1:37 scale. RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted May 6, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) Hi all, Â Bogie Van - So far in 1:37 only.... Â Will follow up with other scales - something went wrong when rescaling and I need to redraw parts. Â Â Â Â A question for you... Â Do you prefer the drawings with an indication of where the couple sits on the wagon end or just plain ends? Â Thanks Edited May 7, 2016 by Scottish Modeller
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted May 7, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 7, 2016 Hi all,  As promised - Bogie Van - 3.5mm Scale (HOe)   OK - So now you have 5 vans....  You only get one set of tiger stripes though! I tried to add these to the actual artwork but couldn't get round the problem of blending them over the iron work/strapping.  So - It's up to you...  I suggest them printing on clear decal sheet - then see how they look on the wagon - Before committing to putting them on permanently.  Thanks  To follow shortly....  Same van in 4mm scale (009)
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted August 23, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 23, 2021 Hi all, Â The DHR interest has been revived and I'm back to doing some modelling for myself and another guy with similar interests. Â I'll try to update things as they progress, but, as normal, I'd rather be modelling! Â Thanks Phil H
