Aylesbury (LNWR) - Andrew David explains why this groundbreaking EM gauge 'home' layout is making a one-off public appearance 55 years on from its creation. 2. Mickleover (N) - Strong family links with a former Great Northern route in Derbyshire inspired Kevin Smith's N gauge layout, set in the line's final decade of service. 3. Nearholmer
"With spring in full swing, the garden railway season is upon us." What planet is it that "spring is in full swing" on? K (Typed as I ride through Central London, on a 'bus, in a chilly thunderstorm, following a week of heavy frosts and sleet showers. And this in the "warm south")
Andy Y
Bright sunshine and a horizontal bird feeder as I look out of the office window. We have to make these seasonal predictions weeks if not months before a mag appears, right now I'm photoshopping hazy August skies into pictures. Yesterday it was miserable January skies, so we'll pop that layout in July mag then. BTW the Aylesbury article has sunny skies because it's always warm and bright on the weekend of Railex when it has it's only outing; honestly! RMweb Gold D9020 Nimbus Posted April 29, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 29, 2016 Has Paul Lunn's series on layout design been abandoned? Seems a little while since an article in it appeared (I am aware it only ran on alternate months).
Andy Y
Has Paul Lunn's series on layout design been abandoned? Seems a little while since an article in it appeared (I am aware it only ran on alternate months). I am not 100% certain if we've featured all of the articles that Paul wrote for BRM whilst he was working freelance. Since earlier this year Paul has been contracted solely to Model Rail, he was completely open with us and Paul (plus Mel and Alfie) will always be warmly welcomed if they're demoing at any of our future shows. I keep mithering someone I know who's got a headful of plans and is a rather good illustrator to show us some of his ideas so we're always open to a bit of layout planning.
