RMweb Gold scottystitch Posted May 6, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 6, 2016 Hattons still have the PLV £ 20.36 pre-order price. I wonder if they will be honouring that?.... Are they allowed to?

If they are allowed to discount around 15% and that is their selling price then it's about right (from the mentioned Farish RRP). G.

RMweb Gold scottystitch Posted May 12, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 12, 2016 If they are allowed to discount around 15% and that is their selling price then it's about right (from the mentioned Farish RRP). G. Hi Graham, My question was more to do with my thinking that there was a period where retailers weren't allowed to discount below the RRP? Or have I got that wrong? Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick......
Roy L S
I believe the 15% restriction applies to the first 12 weeks following release after which the retailers are no longer bound to it, but In practice further discounts, while they do happen appear limited. By way of just one example (other retailers may equally apply) recently LMS livery Ivatt 2-6-0s have been heavily discounted by Hattons to £78 a time: - http://www.ehattons.com/21339/Graham_Farish_372_627_Class_2MT_Ivatt_2_6_0_6404_in_LMS_black/StockDetail.aspx If I didn't already have four I'd be very tempted to buy one for a repaint into BR unlined black!
